Chris smiled softly at Ashley, "see Ash, there's nothing... well nothing paranormal to worry about. Everything's going to be ok, I promise."

"Can you really promise that? Chris. It really doesn't feel like everything's ok. Josh is-"

"I know y/n. I was there if you forgot. I killed him." You could almost drown in the silence that followed this outburst.

"It wasn't your fault." Ashley's eyes flicked between us quickly, contemplating something.

"She's right Chris. One of us had to... you know. Any of us could have been in that position and any of could have..." she trailed off, not willing to finish her sentence.

"Can we please stop talking about this. All I want to do right now is find Sam. Because that's what I'm worried about." Chris snapped, turning his back to us and quickly walking. He turned to look at us when he reached the stairs, waiting for us to follow.

Ash and I shared a look, her eyes asked a silent question. What do we do?

I threw my arm around her shoulders, leaning on her for support and pulling her along. She gave in and followed, Chris took my other arm and pulled it over his own shoulder, they both helped me down the stairs.

We enter the cinema room. Ashley's voice cut through the silence. "Hey Chris I just want to say... what happened back there in the shed... I know how hard that was... Josh, he was your friend."

"Ash stop." I warned, watching Chris tense up.

"No, I wanna say- I mean thank you- for saving my life."

If Chris meant to save her and Josh:

He looked at me, glancing down at his feet. "Ash, please can we stop talking about this."

If Chris meant to save you and Josh:

"Sure ash- I mean I uh- I'd do it again." He replied, rubbing the back of his neck.

If he meant to save you and Ashley:

"I couldn't let you two die." He mumbled, glancing away from us.

•••

"Yeah I just, I know you and josh were really close and-"

"Let's just find Sam, okay? That's what we are doing."

"I mean oh my god," she started.

I elbowed her.

"Ashley just stop okay? I don't want to think about what happened." Chris reminded.

"Chris-"

"We are finding Sam." He said again.

We exit the cinema room, not before I noticed a smashed vase on the ground. I kneeled next to it, jumping when a loud slam came from behind me.

"Y/n!" Chris yelled, pounding on the door.

"What the fuck?" I limped towards the door, trying to open it. "Chris this isn't funny!"

"It's not me!" He yelled back. "This is so eff-ed up!"

"Chris!" I yelped, hearing knocking on the other door that led into the room, "CHRIS!"

The door opens behind me, "Y/n?" Chris calls, still trying to pull open the door.

I froze in place, starring at the man who entered the theatre. "Ten-" he started, I looked around my surroundings for anything I could use. There were broken shards from the vase on the ground near my feet, "Eight-"

I raised my hands above my head, "Y/N?" Chris yells behind me.

I kneeled towards the ground, watching the psycho walk towards me. I snatched a sizeable shard from the ground, stabbing it into his thigh. "Run, Chris run!" I yelled back, sprinting as fast as I could past the man.

"Fuck!" The deep voice cursed, limping after me. At least it was more even playing ground, we both had fucked up legs. I exited the cinema room, looking at my options. The stairs, then there was the kitchen, or the front door.

If you choose the stairs:

I rush to the stairs, Maybe I could find a way to Chris and Ash. hurrying as fast as my legs would carry me down them. Or as fast as gravity would take me. One step on my bad ankle sent me tumbling down to the bottom, my head crashing against the covered furniture and boxes. I blink quickly, trying to stand. The blurry figure was nearing the bottom by now.

Last thing I remember is a boot making contact with my nose.

If you choose the kitchen:

I decided my best bet would be through the kitchen, I slammed the door behind me and propped a chair up under the handles, buying me some time. Quickly I picked up a knife, preparing myself for the worst. I could never use it against somebody, but the psycho didn't have to know that.

My ankle throbbed as I stumbled through the room, tripping over a rogue blanket. "Shit." I mumbled, the knife skidded across the wood with a screech. I looked at the blanket that was wrapped around my foot, untangling it while keeping an eye on the door.

If only I had been paying attention to the window behind me, I might have noticed the psycho sneak up.

Something hits me over the head and the room fades to black.

If you choose the front door:

I rush to the door, throwing it open and stepping into the cold air. The adrenaline rushed through my veins and I ran into the woods, pressing my back against a nearby tree. The heavy boots pounding on the wooden steps echoed through my head. I put my hand over my mouth, silently hoping anyone or anything will come by to distract the man.

My prayers were answered, although at a horrible cost. A screech rang through the trees. I returned the shriek with a scream as a tall skinny beast jumps on me. My life flashed before my eyes as a sharp pain stabs through my chest. Blood sprayed from the new gapping hole as the monster rips my beating heart from it. The last thing I saw was the sharp claws, sparkling from the dripping blood in the moonlight.

If I would have had a few more seconds of consciousness, I would have noticed the strangely familiar butterfly tattoo, and the look of satisfied revenge in the monsters eyes.
The psycho watches in horror as his friends life drains before his eyes. Maybe if something had gone differently, maybe if different choices were made. Maybe if you could go back in time, you could save yourself, and him.
