Chapter 24 (What is SHE doing here?)

*Elise's POV*

"Elise wait!" Thalia yelled after me.

I ran straight out of camp and through the forest having no clue where I was going but I honestly didn't care.

I just had to get away from everywhere.

If that made any sense.

I was running with all of my might sprinting straight through branches and over the rocks on the ground.

I just couldn't stand it.

Nico was dying.

My Nico.

He was dying because of me.

There was no way I was going to be able to stand this or to be able to live knowing what I had done.

There was no way I'd be able to live without saying goodbye to him.

I needed him.

I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't see the rock in front of me. My foot caught on it and sent me barreling down the slight incline till I hit a tree square on my back.

I felt a splitting pain in my head but I forced myself to try and get to my feet.

I had to get to camp.

I slowly got up my vision blurring.

I felt dizzy and I tried to remain conscious. I couldn't pass out. Not while Nico was dying.

I forced myself into focus and I slowly started to move towards the direction where I thought camp could be.

I needed to get there.

I felt myself getting dizzier and dizzier but I kept moving even as my vision started to fuzz.

I wasn't letting my stupid self get in the way of seeing Nico. Not anymore.

*Back at Camp Half-Blood*

Percy paced his cabin nervously praying to the gods that Nico would be okay.

A knock on the door came and he quickly whipped his attention to the door.

"Come in" he said continuing to pace.

Annabeth walked in and closed the door behind her.

"Why are you pacing?" Annabeth asked Percy.

Percy didn't answer her he just continued to pace the cabin.

"Percy!" Annabeth said trying to get his attention.

Percy didn't stop pacing and didn't show any signs of comprehension.

Annabeth finally stepped in front of him and he ran right into her.

He looked up from the ground startled and looked at Annabeth.

"I'm sorry I didn't see you there" Percy said looking s little embarrassed.

Annabeth rolled her eyes.

"Why were you pacing?" She asked him again.

"I'm nervous" Percy said plainly.

Annabeth sighed.

"Percy please don't give me any short answers tell me honestly and completely" Annabeth said looking up into his eyes.

Percy sighed and took a seat on his bunk.

"I'm nervous that Nico won't get better and that he'll die because I chased Elise away from camp" Percy answered looking at Annabeth.
