Chapter 4 (Chiron Gets me a New Boyfriend)

"Wait so we have to pretend to be regular high schoolers why exactly?" I asked Chiron as he handed me a folder.

"This school has been enrolling massive amounts of potential demigods and we need a team stationed there incase something bad happens before we can transport them to camp" Chiron said handing Nico and Leo there folders.

I looked in my folder and saw that I had a totally different identity.

"We have found ways to mask your scent but your names will give you away, you're too well known" Chiron started.

"So you've been given alternate persona" Chiron finished.

I read over the file and noticed that every detail of our fake background was written down.

My eyes stopped on a section of relationships.

I had a boyfriend.

But he wasn't the same as the one I already had.

"Um Chiron, do we have to follow everything on this sheet?" I asked him hoping he would give me reassurance.

"Yes Elise, we have given you all extreme details about your lives with the help of the mist I'm certain we can help arrange fake memories that correspond with your persona's life style and heritage" Chiron clarified.

"Yeah but certainly a silly detail about who our best friend is or something like that wouldn't matter right?" I asked him probably sounding desperate.

"Actually yes Elise, we have created a whole past for your persona. Changing even a slight detail or a person for that matter would throw this all out of synch" Chiron explained.

I buried my face into my folder not wanting them to see the sadness and heartbreak fill my face.

"I'll give you all a week to learn your new personalities and to help you fit into your past" Chiron finished.

"You all should probably stay at camp for now until the school starts up" he added walking out of the room.

As soon as he left I went to go sit on a couch that lay on the other side of the room.

Nico must have noticed my expression because he asked

"Elise baby, what's wrong?".

Leo rolled his eyes when Nico said "baby".

"Check the section where it says relationships" I muttered staring off into the distance.

Nico gave me a questioning look but still flipped to the page.

His eyes scanned the page looking for the section and when he did his face dropped.

"Who the hell is Maxwell Gonzales?" Nico asked looking at the sheet.

I can't believe that was the first thing that he noticed.

"Why?" I asked him.

"Because apparently I'm supposed to be his BFF?" Nico asked clearly confused.

"Um dude first off, It would not say BFF and second, Thats my fake identity" Leo said laughing at Nico's confusion.

My face fell as soon as Leo confirmed that he was Maxwell.

"You're Max?" I asked not hiding the devastation on my face.

I know that I may find Leo extremely attractive but I love Nico and I can't imagine spending a week not being his girlfriend let alone 9 months.

"Yeah, why do you care" Leo snapped.

Looks like he's in a pissy mood.

"You might want to check you relationship section too ms. Pissy" I snapped at him.
