Chapter 6 (Whitney)

"Ready to go?" Chiron asked us as Argus packed our bag into the car we were going to be driving.

I looked back at the half-empty camp that lay behind me and sighed.

I was leaving Elise Jackson on these steps and driving away as Kyra Langley.

I was about to answer yes when I remembered something.

Or should I say someone.

"Shit, Chiron I forgot to tell my mom I was going on a quest" I said quickly pulling out my cell.

I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder and I turned around.

"I already called her and explained" Nico explained.

"Thank you" I said meaning it.

Nico just nodded and removed his hand from my shoulder.

"I think we're ready Chiron" I said turning back to face him.

He nodded.

"Good luck" he said plainly and we all just answered with a nod.

Argus came back to us an handed Leo the keys to the car.

"Why does he get to drive?" I asked in a whiny tone.

"Case you didn't notice I'm older than you, and I'm kind of a god with mechanics" Leo said in a supposedly impressive tone.

I rolled my eyes but didn't argue as I got into the back of the car.

"Alright to Maine we go" Leo said once we had closed all the doors and he had put the keys in the car.

The drive to Maine was a little over 7 hours and to be honest sitting in a car with your semi ex boyfriend and your fake new boyfriend is probably the most awkward thing I've ever experienced.

We pulled up in the driveway of a house and I sat there in shock as Leo and Nico unload the car.

"You coming?" Leo asked opening my door.

I stared at the mansion that sat before us in disbelief.

"Is this our dorm building?" I asked Leo.

Leo shook his head.

"This is our vacation house that we've supposedly been staying in all summer" he explained.

I nodded my head slowly.

I mean I expected to have some pretty fancy things but I guess my imagination couldn't quite comprehend what it is actually like.

"Right" I said a little dazed.

"Come on Kyra we should get going before the house staff gets worried" Leo said helping my out of the car.

"Yes we should" I said snapping out of my daze.

I got out of the car and followed Leo inside of the mansion.

"Im so sorry you had to grab these bags Mr. Gonzales" an older women said rushing up to us ordering other staff members to grab our suitcases.

"It's fine Caroline I was just trying to be a gentlemen for Kyra" Leo said with a grin and a shrug.

Leo was probably the best out of us at his part and it definitely showed..

"Well it's good to know that you haven't forgotten the manners I taught you" Caroline said a little hesitantly.

Leo just smiled and nodded.
