Chapter 16 (Training and Tales)

"You have to put effort into it if you're going to get back to the level you were at" Jason said taking a sip of water.

As soon as I had returned to camp Chiron had started me with my training so I wouldn't "get out of shape".

Little late for that.

"Hey cut me some slack I was involuntarily asleep for two months" I huffed with my hands on my knees.

Jason had me running laps around camp to get my legs back to normal.

"Yeah well in those two months you're leg muscles became soft and know your mile time is one of someone about 3 times your size" Jason said checking my time on his watch.

I glared at him and he looked down at me.

"You suck, you know that right?" I said continuing to catch my breath.

"And you're acting like you got hit by a bus" he retorted.

The blonde jackass was too busy sitting on his high horse to notice Piper sneaking up behind him.

She tackled him in a hug and the both went flying to the ground.

"Thanks Pipes" Jason grunted.

Piper smiled and gave Jason a quick peck on the lips.

"So how's training going?" She asked standing up.

I looked at her like she was crazy.

"You're boyfriend is a fucking tyrant" I huffed.

"Jason" Piper said giving her boyfriend a warning tone.

"Pipes I'm just trying to work her hard. You want her healthy again right?" He said to Piper flashing her a look that made her instantly melt.

"Be kind to him. Please" She said throwing a little charm speak into her words.

"Ugh you two are grosser than Percy and Annabeth" I said disgusted.

An Aphrodite cabin member shouted Pipers name and she turned around.

"Well that's my cue. See you later" Piper said giving Jason a quick peck on the cheeks.

As soon as Piper left Jason turned back to me.

"Ready for another lap?" he asked with a smile.

I glared at him and stood up straight.

"This better be the last goddamn lap or so help me god I will drown you're ass in the lake" I said to him dead serious.

"Ahh there's the cousinly love" Jason joked starting to run.

I sighed and ran after him starting the familiar lap again.

"You've got to parry your opponent not just jab at them!" Jason instructed as I jabbed at him.

He stabbed at my side and I side stepped him.

"You need to work harder Elise, I nearly had you on that one" Jason lectured.

I rolled my eyes and did a spin and jab and got the side of Jason.

"Argh" he grunted as he pushed my sword away and grabbed his side.

"I think I'm getting better" I said with a confident smile.

Jason looked at me and took a piece of ambrosia.

"You may be getting better but you're definitely not as good as you were." Jason admitted taking a sip of his water.

God could he ever compliment me without there being an insult in there somewhere?
