Chapter 2 (My Boyfriends Father)

I woke up to the smell of pancakes.

My eyes fluttered open and I looked around my room.

It was arranged in the way it always was but it was a little dusty.

I got ready for the day and then went into the kitchen.

I found Paul at the table reading the newspaper, Percy playing on his phone and my mom making pancakes on the stove.

I walked over and sat down at the table.

"Do you need help with anything mom?" I asked her.

"Could you set the table for me?" My mother asked me.

I looked around the table and replied "Sure" then got up and grabbed some plates, cups and silver ware from the cupboard.

After I set the table and sat back down my mother carried a plate filled with pancakes over to the table.

When she set them down I noticed that they were blue.

I smiled.

"So what are you two going to do today?" my mother asked.

"I think I'm going to some museum with Annabeth" Percy said in between mouthfuls of pancakes.

"I think I'm just going to walk around Manhattan today" I said taking a sip of orange juice.

My mother nodded and we all returned to our breakfast.

After breakfast I grabbed a small bag and headed out of the apartment.

I was walking for a little when I came across 2nd avenue.

I decided to turn onto it when I came across a cemetery.

I normally would've over looked it but I noticed someone inside.

Their face looked like Nico's.

I opened the iron gate and stepped inside of the beautifully groomed landscape.

I was being as silent as I could be trying to not seem creepy when the person spoke.

"Do not hide demigod it only pesters me"

I was taken by surprise at his voice.

It sounded familiar.

"I'm sorry sir you just reminded me of someone I know" I stuttered embarrassed.

"Well it's quite insulting that you don't recognize me considering who I am" the person spat.

I thought about it for a minute and then the realization dawned on me.

"I'm so sorry lord Hades, you just reminded me of your son Nico" I apologized.

"Ah yes, him" The god said as though it left a bad taste in his mouth.

"I don't know what you mean by that sir?" I said confused.

"My boy has done quite a lot but not as much as Bianca would have if she were still alive" Hades said.

"Well you shouldn't compare him to your daughter, It would be like Kronos comparing you to Zeus or Poseidon" I said getting annoyed.

"Don't speak of the traitors that are my family" Hades hissed.

I could tell he was growing angry but I couldn't stand anyone talking down Nico, especially his father.

"That's probably how Nico feels whenever someone brings you up" I said trying to have Hades make the connection.
