I woke up the next morning, facing the wall and the duvet was around my waist and legs. I stretched my legs and arms out and turned over, checking the alarm clock, it was 9:45am. I slid out of bed and opened the door, everyone else's bedroom doors where open and I walked straight into the bathroom door. I looked at myself in the mirror, I didn't see Ellie-Anna McQueen - I saw Mercedes McQueen.
"Is that you El? Breakfast's been ready ages," Porsche shouted up the stairs.
"Coming," I muttered back, opening the bathroom door again and walking down the stairs. Nana was sitting, watching the tv in the living room and I walked into the kitchen, where Porsche, Lockie and Celine were.
"Sleepy head, eh?" Lockie smiled, I took a seat across from him at the table.
"Can I ask you three something?" I asked.
"Shoot," Porsche replied.
"Did anybody hear me go to the toilet during the night?" I whispered.
"No, I've been awake all night and nobody went to the toilet once," Celine told me.
"Then did you hear anybody talking?" I asked afterwards.
"Nope," She muttered, getting up and walking into the downstairs bathroom, which was next door.
"Why do you ask?" Locked smirked.
"I just don't remember if when I went to the toilet in real life, or it was a dream," I laughed, pretending it was a joke.
"You have some strange dreams," Porsche laughed, rinsing her coffee cup in the sink.
"Yeah, I know," I laughed, leaving the kitchen and going back upstairs. I picked my phone up and checked my recent messages from 'Mercy'. The text I thought I received last night, was actually there. I didn't know whether Mercedes being in my room was a dream or a real life thing. I placed my phone down and walked across to Mercedes' side of the room. My hone buzzed and I walked back over.

Real or dreams? Nobody knows, but sometimes dreams come true.
-Mercy.

"Oh god, oh god, oh god," I whispered to myself, throwing my phone across the room and trying not to cry. My phone buzzed once more.

Smashing your phone doesn't help anyone.
-Mercy.

I opened Mercedes wardrobe, it was all empty, I opened my wardrobe and it was empty. Under my bed there was empty boxes and under Mercedes was suitcases and old clothes. I pulled the curtains open and looked out of the window, the only thing you could see was the view of the houses opposite. I was about to walk away when I noticed a key on the windowsill, which wasn't there yesterday. I picked it up and looked at it, there was a white and red tag attached to it, with the numbers 205 on and the writing 'Hollyoaks garages'. I pulled my old nike blazers out of the wardrobe and ran down the stairs and straight out the front door.
"Where are you going?" Porsche shouted, as I ran past her at the bottom of the stairs. I ran past Ste Hay's flat, he was stood outside with his husband and his children, we hadn't really spoke and he smiled when I ran past. Then I passed the loft, where Mercedes use to work, then past Trevor's tropical fish shop. Then down towards the pub, the dog in the park, just before then the Roscoe brothers garage. Behind there was the little alley way where the garages were. I turned to the first garage door, number 146. I crossed the road and looked at the next number, number 209, I walked down four garages and stood outside number 205. I pushed the key into the locked and slid the door open. The room was dark until I switched the lights on, in the middle of the room was a bag. It was empty accept for another little key in the bottom. I picked it up and looked at it, this time there was no little label on it this time. I sat on my knees and looked at it, there was nothing even written on it, not even a print on the top. I walked back out of the garage, locking the padlock behind me. I walked the way I had just ran.
"Hey Ellie-Anna, nice pjs," Robbie Roscoe shouted from inside the garage.
"Get away Robbie," I laughed, walking back up the street. People looked at me from around the street and I tried to ignore it, as I did on the way here.
"Hey, McQueen," Grace shouted from the balcony beside the loft.
"Leave it out Grace," I shouted back, knowing she was going to take the Mickey. When I got home, Celine had gone to work and Porsche looked at me.
"Well?" Nana asked.
"Well what?" I smiled.
"Where you been?" Lockie gasped.
"Just out and about, you know," I beamed, trying to run up the stairs.
"Wait there lady," Nana shouted.
"Yes," I sighed, pausing.
"Are you sure everything's okay?" Porsche asked.
"Yeah I'm sure, why wouldn't everything be fine?" I smirked.
"Just asking," Porsche laughed.
"Can I go now?" I smiled.
"Go on," Nana sighed, walking back into the living room. When I got into the bedroom I checked my phone, no messages. I looked at my key, I turned to Mercedes room and started shoving the key into her bedside draws, jewellery boxes, diary but it didn't fit anything. Just when I was about to give up I remembered Mercedes special box. It was hidden in her knicker draw and nobody accept for her had ever seen inside it. I pulled the draw open and rummaged around until I found it, it was pretty - black with beads. I slipped the key into to it and it opened. Inside there was her old engagement ring was inside and I opened the little box that was beside it, in there was her necklaces that either had a special meaning, either from her son's christening and her wedding necklaces. There was nothing else inside, I picked up the ring and placed the box in the side.
"Ellie-Anna," Lockie shouted, running up the stairs, his voice getting closer. I oushed thr box off the side and closed Mercedes' draw, just in time for Lockie opening the door.
"Yes," I smiled, walking over to him, hoping he wouldn't notice the box which was on the floor beside her bed.
"Nana's wondering if you're hungry, she's making me and Porsche bacon and egg if you want some?" He asked.
"Go on then," I smiled and he nodded and closed the door. I sighed, with relife, and wlked bck over to the jewellery box, which was upside down with the ring and necklaces beside it. I bent down and picked the necklaces and ring up, and turned the jewellery box around. The bottom fell out, reveling a false bottom. Inside the false bottom was a peice of paper, reading.

Dropping clues so you find where I am, coming to get me is easier than being kidnapped. Maybe try speaking with one of the Roscoe brothers, you know the one who hates me.
-Mercy.

I looked up and stuffed the belongings back into Mercedes' box, locked it and out it back where it belonged. I knew exactly who 'Mercy' meant, she was refearing too Freddie Roscoe.
