Chapter 14

Silverstone's POV

My head is buzzing with thoughts. I can't seem to rest, Goldheart is all I think about! It's not that I like him... Do I ?

"So what do you say, Silverstone?" Says Oakleaf

"Huh? What?" I say snapping back into the real world.

"I just asked you if you wanted to hunt near the river or by the forest."

"Oh.. How about near the river. I'm craving some fish!"

We head towards the river padding side by side. So close that our pelts were brushing. My heart starts beating faster and faster.

This feels... Sort of nice. But.. what would Goldheart say? Never mind him.. I just need to enjoy the rest of my day without any more troubles.

"How about you go right, and I'll go left. I need a moment to myself." I tell him

"Alright.. Meet me here." Oakleaf replies.

I watch his red pelt glimmering in the sunlight and he dashes off.

I then sniff the air for prey, as I managed to catch 2 mice and a trout in the river. I head back to our meeting place.

Oakleaf is already waiting for me. I set my prey down next to him as I take a look into his sparkling, dark hazel brown eyes.

What am I feeling for him? Anger? Sadness? Or is it... Love?
But how can I love him?! I rarely talk to him.. This is the first time we've been hunting together.

"Silverstone.." Oakleaf begins as he interrupts my thoughts.

"Yes?" I meow

"I know this is a bit forward.. And we haven't been spending enough time together. But, I can't control my feelings for you! Silverstone, I love you. That's why I'm asking you to be my mate. Will you..?"

My heart starts racing.

"I....I..."
