Chapter 20

Silverstone's POV

I wake up in a strange place. Thunder pounding against the skies, dead cats fill the valley. I see wet, sticky blood everywhere.

"Where am I..? Am I dead?" I meow into the dark shadows.

"Not yet, little one. You still have a long life ahead of you." Meows a familiar voice.

"Flamestar!" I cry

"What happened..?"

"Duskflower knocked you off a cliff. You're unconscious, and what you see here is the future." She meows.

"What? No! This can't be!"

I walk around seeing dead cats everywhere.

Flamestorm, my brother, Snowflake and her kits, Sunstar, Bronzetail, and others.

But one cat catches my eye.

Goldheart! He.. He's dead too! And he is fading away! That means he's gone.. Forever..

I look up to see Duskflower standing on high rock looking pleased with herself.

"I'm going to kill you!" I growl

I turn towards Flamestar.

"There must be some mistake! Isn't there anyway to fix this? And why didn't my power work when I tried to turn Duskflower into stone? Why is this happening??!" I meow, feeling very frustrated.

"There is one way to fix this mess. You must kill Duskflower. No one but you. You must use your power, for its the thing that will save you the most. It didn't work the first time because you already used it on one cat, which was Oakleaf. You know what to do." she meows to me.

"But I don't know what to do! Why me?" I cry

"You must face your destiny, Silverstone." Replies Flamestar as she fades away.

"No! Don't leave! Please, Flamestar, help me!"

"Face your destiny.."

I wake up and pain throbs through my head.

Flamestar is right. I need to face my destiny...

I have to kill Duskflower.
