I'm watching the petals falling on the ground from the vase. So, I pick it up and put it on the table. Nahagip ng mata ko si Gideon.

"What's the important you gonna tell?" I cut off the silence between us.

"Totoong gusto kita."

Mabilis kong nalingon ang ulo sa kaniya at napapikit nang biglang sumakit ang leeg ko.

I was shocked of what he said that's why I turned my head to him faster.

Mabilis kong binalik ang tingin sa bulaklak.

"A-Ano?"

"Hindi mo sana pagisipan ng kakaiba ang sinabi ni Aleena sa'yo. Kinailangan ako ni Sofie sa mga nagdaang araw dahil kaibigan ko ang kapatid niya. Her brother are in middle of depression."

Then why they're looked so happy to that picture? Hindi ko na lang itatanong.

"I feel sorry for her brother. Is he fine now?"

He nodded. "Medyo maayos na siya. Sa tingin ko naman kaya na ni Sofie na gabayan ang kapatid niya."

Natahimik ako. Hindi na alam ang susunod na sasabihin. Ilang minuto ang lumipas nang maisip kong sabihin sa kaniya na dumating na ang resulta. I promised to him that I will tell to him immediately if I got the result. Kaya nga lang kagabi ay may tinutulungan siyang iba.

This man. He looks like doesn't care to anyone. Sa ekspresyon pa lang ng kaniyang mukha masasabi mong wala siyang pake. But if you talk to him and open up about your problem. Mababaliktad lahat ng iniisip mo tungkol sa kaniya.

He's a caring person and a good listener.

"M-Maybe-" I was cut off when his phone rang.

He pulled his phone from the pocket and give me a glance before he answered whoever calling.

"Sofie."

Tila naagaw ng pangalan na 'yon ang atensyon ko.

Why is she calling? Is his brother need Gideon again?

"Gideon, saan ka?"

He even open the loudspeaker.

"Why did you open the loudspeaker?" I mouthed.

"Para alam mong hindi kita ipagpapalit," he said loudly.

Napaiwas naman ako ng tingin. Gosh! Sofie just heard him. Naramdaman ko ang pamumula ng pisngi.

I get it now. I was just overthinking earlier. I even thought that Gideon fell to Sofie that's why he didn't had a time to me yesternight.

Is being a paranoid are the effects of liking someone?

"Who's you talking, Gideon? By the way, I went to your room kanina. You aren't there. Your classmate told me that you ditch your class. I thought we will hangout later?"

"I didn't say that, Sofie. Ang sabi ko lang sasamahan ko kayo ng kuya mo. He texted me a while ago."

"W-What did he say?"

Why she stuttered?

I stared to Gideon who's staring at me.

"Maayos na siya at hindi niya na kailangan ng abala natin. He's putting too much weight on us. That's what he said. It's actually honored to help someone who's in trouble."
