Waking up on a Saturday morning with an extreme hangover isn't my idea of fun. Unfortunately, I had no way around it. Pain killers and water are the only things that'll save me now.

After greeting Tony with a groan and taking a couple of pills, I started to reminisce on last night. Most of it was a blur, I can barely remember anything towards the end. Something about Vic.

"Are you okay?" Tony asked cautiously. I quirked my eyebrows at him.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I responded.

"Well... Vic looked pretty mad..."

"Mad?" I questioned. The thought of Vic being mad didn't even occur to me.

"Do you seriously not remember? You guys were loud, arguing."

"We argued?" I questioned again.

"Wow, okay, you don't remember. Vic's mad at you because he thought it was weird of you to drink so much and act so careless all the sudden. He thinks you're changing." Tony explained briefly. More and more memories flooded my mind again. I remembered him questioning me, and I remembered not stopping him from leaving. A frown appeared on my lips.

"Oh my god, I need to talk to him." I retaliated before hurrying into my room, pulling my phone off the charger before dialing Vic's number. It rang for a long time before I got his voice mail. With a huff, I hung up without a message. It was still early, he might still be asleep.

"Kellin, I need to tell you something." Tony said softly as I leaned against my wall, brewing.

"Hmm?" I mumbled.

"It's about Vic. He- uh." Tony stopped, pondering his thoughts it seemed. Tony nodded, bidding me to come with him into the living room where we sat. "I've known Vic for a long time, and usually Vic deals well with everything, but there's one thing Vic hates. He hates change." Tony explained.

"Which is why he was so angry at me." I said slowly, making Tony nod.

"Yes. I don't know if he wants me to tell you this, but I have a nagging feeling to let you know this story. It's about his ex..."

"I don't feel comfortable-" I began, but Tony interrupted me by holding his finger up.

"Vic hasn't dated anyone besides you in over two and half years because of a guy he used to date as a freshman. They were really good for each other, and I really liked the dude. But then... I don't know what happened. They stayed together, but that spark just wasn't there anymore. Neither of them seemed to like each other anymore. Vic didn't like to talk about it and he still doesn't."

"So they just quit liking each other? For no reason? And Vic said he had never been with a guy before me-"

"He lied, but it was only to avoid the topic. They quit liking each other because the guy changed. Kind of like how you changed a little bit last night. He got into drinking heavy and smoking all the time. We never noticed it, it usually took place in the evenings. He'd drink, Vic would try to stop him. It was a mess. I'm guessing that's why Vic was so angry last night. He went through hell a couple years ago because the guy turned into such a fucking prick."

"Great, I feel worse. This guy... He never hurt Vic right? Like, physically?" I questioned, trying to decide if I was crossing a line by asking that.

"Not that I know of. Vic told me over the phone one night around two in the morning. He was just... sobbing; Hysterically. It took me forever to get him to calm down. The whole time you could hear him in the background, shouting angry swear words at Vic and things being thrown. Vic hated him, but he was too blinded by his love for him to leave."

"That's... horrible." I mumbled solemnly. It hurt me to even think about Vic in that position. He didn't deserve that pain. I shook my head, instantly regretting everything that happened last night. "I need to talk to him. If he doesn't answer I'm going to go over."

"Don't tell him I told you. I'm the only one who knows, not even Mike. It was sworn to secrecy. We aren't even as close as we used to be, but I don't want him to be angry at me."

"I won't." I promised, but it was half hearted. Anything could happen, and telling him what happened might be the only way to fix it. I know we said no secrets, but I understand Vic on this one. If I was in that situation I wouldn't have told him either.

I dialed Vic's number again, letting it ring continuously until I heard voice mail again. With a frown, I hung up and went into the living room. Tony signalled for me to stop as he picked up his phone and dialed in a number.

"Hey, where are you?" Tony spoke into the phone. "Are you okay?" He added on before nodding towards me. "Okay, I just wondered... I'll see you later, bye." Tony hung up before grabbing a piece of paper and writing down an address on it.

"Here, Vic's there. I could've guessed, but I just wanted to make sure."

"Where is this?" I questioned.

"Go west, it's a recreational pond a few blocks down. He goes there to think often." Tony noted before shooing me off. "Hurry, he might not be there very long." I nodded, throwing on my jacket before hurrying out of the complex and down the side walk. I watched the signs I past until one matched with the address sloppily scrawled on the paper.

When I got to the pond, sure enough there was a familiar figure sitting in the grass. His back was all I could see, but I knew who it was. Cautiously, I made my way down the small slope before taking a seat beside Vic. I looked over at him, but he wasn't looking back. So I looked away; Facing the shallow water before my feet. It was chilly out and you could hear the wind, but nothing else.

"I'm sorry." I apologized quietly, looking back over to Vic who finally turned towards me. "I shouldn't have had so much to drink." I added on.

"You're changing." Vic noted again.

"No, I'm not going to change. It was a one time thing unlike that guy that-" I stopped myself, biting my tongue. Vic gazed at me suddenly as I tried to think of something to say to distract the tension.

"What guy?" He questioned. I shook my head.

"No guy." I retaliated nervously. "I just want you to know I'm not going to change. I wouldn't do that to you."

"What guy?" Vic questioned again, disbanding what I had said. "Who told you?" He added on a little angrily, lowering his voice.

"...Tony." I said with a sigh. Vic clenched his hands into fists. I looked at him nervously.

"He wasn't supposed to tell anyone." Vic seethed bitterly. Slowly and cautiously, I placed my hand over his, making him relax a little. Vic looked down at our hands, releasing his fist to hold my hand properly.

"Don't be mad at him. I couldn't remember most of last night, so he told what had happened. I guess I didn't understand why you were so angry... Then he told me." Vic shook his head, looking down at the ground and sighing. "Do you want to talk about it?" I questioned.

"I can't." Vic said warily, his voice unstable. "It hurts too much." He added on. With a frown, I pushed Vic down on his back, straddling him shortly after. Vic looked back at me as I made him place his arms above his head. My fingers trailed up his arms before I reached his hands, lacing his fingers with mine.

"You didn't deserve that, and he didn't deserve you." I whispered. "I'm sorry that happened to you. I can't imagine living like that. I promise that I won't hurt you like that, ever." I added on softly as Vic seemed to search my eyes for solace. Tenderly, I leaned down and pressed my lips on his, cupping his face in my hands. I felt his arm wrap around my waist, pulling my body into his as he kissed me harder and deeper.

"Please mean that." Vic whispered breathlessly. He moved me away a little, but kept my face close to his.

"I've never meant anything more in my entire life." I reassured, brushing my nose against his before kissing him again, savoring the way his lips seemed so perfect for my own.
