Monday approached quicker than expected. I remembered to look over the papers, which I did on Sunday after Tony and I went grocery shopping. He insisted on Mike coming with us, but I told him no because quite frankly facing Mike or Vic right now made me uncomfortable. Eventually I convinced him that he could go one day without seeing his best friend, and then everything was fine. That man and Mike might as well being a couple, because twenty-four hours away from each other seems to be years in their explanation.
Everything we bought consisted of trashy food that would definitely not keep us in shape. Unless I went to the gym, but let's be honest, I hated exercise and wasn't going to go to the gym very often. Along with the junk food, I managed to find some healthier choices that both of us agreed on. When we got home, Tony helped me put everything away before we separated for the night.
Morning came, and here I am, off to my first college class. Memorable wouldn't be a word I'd use to describe it though, I'm not sure what it is. All I know is it's cold outside and I still have a good few minutes before even arriving at the campus. I pulled my sleeves down and situated my beanie on my head where it was covering the tips of my ears. My sneakers were warm enough, and so were my pants. Mostly it was my face which was chilly. I sped up my pace in the hopes of arriving on campus faster.
Tall buildings which used to be far away were now right in front of me. There were so many places and things to see, which in return made my search for my class much harder. I removed the guide from my pocket before locating which building I needed to go for my first class; Visual communications theory. Not really sure what that means, but my degree said it'd help me in graphic design, sculpting, and art so it was good enough for me.
The building my class was located in was of course clear on the other side of campus, so instead of walking I opted for jogging because why the hell not? I was cold so maybe running could muster up enough heat to keep me warm. I noted the other buildings along the way so I wouldn't have to rely on a piece of paper so much. Eventually I found the building in the middle of two tall ones which was surprisingly smaller compared to every other buildings around here. Out front it listed all of the classes that were held here, but visual communications theory was the only art class in this building.
When I opened the door, the bell rang and there stood a few people absorbed in their phones. Very few of them looked up, but the ones who did smiled, so I guess it wasn't a bad start. I looked at the list beside the door before running off. I was running low on time so searching for the class wasn't an option. Why would anyone bother when the school put up directions anyways. I located my class which was on the second floor at the very back. Classroom wise, there wasn't a lot of classes. Maybe four or five tops. This was a small building so I shouldn't be surprised.
When I was upstairs and beside the door, I took a deep breath before I turned the door knob and entered the class. It was much brighter in the room and there were large square tables that filled most of the room. On one wall was a large entertainment center filled with all sorts of art products. A desk was up front, and a lady was sitting in the chair behind it. She looked and smiled at me as I closed the door. My eyes fixated on the others in the class with me. Very few people were in here, and none of them I knew except for one.
There was of course the one man whom I didn't want to see, hear, or touch. I gaped at him nervously for a few seconds, and thank god he wasn't paying attention or I would've looked like a total creep. With a huff I walked past him to the desk where the teacher I assume was sitting.
"Hello." She spoke kindly to me with a smile.
"Hi, I'm Kellin Quinn and I'm new-"
"Ah, say no more. Rules here are very laid back. My class explains basic physics of light, anatomy and physiology of the eye, cognitive and perception theories, color theories, and a few other things which we'll learn in second semester."
