The Not So Small Family

JJ, Henry, Amy and a few other people decided to go outside after breakfast. JJ came inside a little while later and either Emily didn't notice her or she ignored her. "Heyyy Emilyyyyyy" JJ said trying to get her attention

"Heyyy Jenniferrrrr" Emily said the same way without looking up from her phone

"You know how I love you and most importantly you love me?"

Emily looked up "What'd you do?"

"What makes you think I did something? Can't I just say I love you"

"Not like that you can't. You did something"

"Ok see I didn't do anything"

"Hmm"

JJ gave her an innocent smile

"Jareau" Emily warned

"Prentiss" JJ said mocking her

Emily raised an eyebrow

"UghfineHenrymightormighynotofgottenstuckinatree" JJ rushed out

"What?"

"I said Henry might or might not of gotten stuck in a tree" She said ducking her head 

Emily stared at Jennifer for a minute or two. "Seriously"

"Seriously" JJ responded nodding

"Then why don't you get him down"

"Because I can't reach him and if I could I wouldn't have told you about this"

"Use a ladder"

"I tried that the ladders are too short"

"Them let him fall the five feet and catch him"

"See that's the problem. He like a good 30-40 ft in the air"

"Excuse me?"

"That kid can climb. I turn my back for a second to talk to Amy and he's like 40 ft in the air! Well in a tree"

Everyone inside ran outside except for Emily. She walked out a little while later with shoes on. She walked over to JJ and saw their son high up in the air sitting on the tree branch. She took her sweatshirt off, handed it to JJ and unbuttoned here button down

"What're you doing?" JJ asked

"Tell them to move the ladders" Emily said bending down to tie her shoes

Once the ladders were moved she got a running start and jumped up to grab a branch. She wasn't going as fast as she could so she could also watch Henry. She got to about 20 ft off the ground and noticed that there wasn't any branches but that didn't slow her down. Emily jumped to the tree next to the one she was on and climbed a little higher than Henry

"Henry cover your head" Emily said

Henry covered his head as Emily jumped to the few branches above his head before slowly and carefully climbing down the branch Henry was on. She sat on the same branch as Henry but she had her back to him. Henry got on her back like she was giving him a piggyback ride. She slowly climbed down being sure to hold on to Henry the best she could.

When she got to the spot with no branches she undid her belt and looped it around the tree, using that to help slow her down. As soon as she got to a branch and redid her belt, Henry accidentally let go of her and started to fall. He started yelling and Emily had to think fast. She called out to Jennifer, throwing her phone to her as she fell after Henry.

She finally caught up to him and grabbed Henry. She hooked her legs on a branch to hold them as she tossed Henry back up. She did a half sit-up so she was at a 90 degree angle to the tree (horizontal) and Henry landed on her bare stomach. He started crying as she whispered sweet nothings in his ear, trying to calm him down. After he settled down she grabbed his hands and wrapped it around her neck and his legs around her waist.
