After their trip to see Joe's family, and then also seeing Addison's, they arrived home and Joe headed straight for Mexico with DNCE, having a couple shows before he'd be back.

This time around, Addison finds herself feeling a bit different. Maybe it's because she only has a few days before she knows she'll see him rather than a couple months. Or maybe it's the fact that she had Porky to spend time with now, but she's not as upset as the first time Joe left. She doesn't find herself sitting around sighing dramatically and wondering what to do that day.

Currently, her phone goes off, her mother's name popping up.

"Hello?" she answers, putting the phone on speaker.

"Hey sweetie, I was just returning the call that I missed!' she says.

"Okay! Yeah I just wanted to call and actually talk to you about possibly coming out here to visit Joe and I in California sometime."

"Oh! You'd want us to?" she asks.

"Yeah, of course!" Addison answers. "I'd love to show you this really amazing life Joe and I are creating. I never thought I'd have a life like this and here I am. I'm proud of it, I wanna show it off," she says, laughing nervously.

"You should be! Especially after everything you've been through," Jenna says. "We'd love to come out and visit you guys some time. We'll have to plan something!" she responds.

"That sounds amazing," Addison says, smiling widely although she can't see her.

After talking for a few more moments, the two hang up and Addison calls Hope, wanting to catch up since they hadn't talked in a couple weeks.

"Hey hey!" she says, answering the phone.

"Hey!" Addison smiles, once again knowing Hope can't see her.

"What's up, buttercup?"

"Not much, hanging around the house with Porky, just kind of enjoying the quiet. I just got off the phone with Jenna, talked to her about them possibly coming and visiting California."

"Oh really!? That'll be cool for them to come visit."

"Yeah, I think so too. I'm just so proud of this life I'm building with Joe, y'know? I'm really happy, we live together, we're doing really good, we have Porky now. I just, I don't know, I'm happy."

"I'm so happy you're happy, Addison. You deserve everything. I know how long you've wanted a life of your own and now that you have it, even though I never see you," she says, pausing so both of them can laugh. "I am so so happy for you."

"Thank you," Addison says, smiling cheesily.

"I am waiting for you to call me saying you're engaged though," Hope admits.

Addison laughs, half hoping she's joking, half nervous that she's not. "I don't know if we'd be ready for that."

"It's just a piece of paper, Ads. You guys are already living like a married couple. Only, without the sex and the label of marriage," Hope tells her.

"Yeah, but... I don't know. It just makes me nervous to think about getting married right now."

"I'd guarantee Joe's thought about asking you."

"Well, don't tell me that," Addison says. "I'll run away."

"No ma'am, you try to run away from him over something like that and I will punch you in the jaw so hard you'll fall back into his arms," Hope says.

Addison laughs, shaking her head. "You're something else. Enough about me and Joe, what's going on with you?"

"Hopelessly single, hopelessly bored. No life. Just, hang out with the girls, play mario kart and watch the Kardashians argue over which of them is the best. Nothing new, my friend," Hope says.

Addison laughs. "I miss you loser."

"I miss you too. Man, I should probably come out there and visit. I'd love to stay in that house you and Joe have. It's gorgeous."

Addison smiles. "We'll have to figure something out for you to come visit."

"For sure," Hope agrees. "So, how are you doing this time around with Joe not there?"

"Better, honestly. I think knowing that it's not as long is helping. Plus I have Porky to keep me company. Before I had no one," Addison says, petting Porky as she does so before getting up and heading to the kitchen.

"I honestly think that's why Joe got you Porky. I still can't believe you chose the name Porky, you weirdo."

"I think it's cute," Addison says, shrugging and grabbing a water bottle from the fridge before taking a sip. "What would you have named him?

"Not Porky," Hope says, laughing.

"Whatever," Addison rolls her eyes, laughing at Hope. "You're ridiculous and you shouldn't be judging me."

The two continue to talk, talking for hours before hanging up and by that time, Addison was ready for bed.

Two days later, the front door opens and shuts, a suitcase rolling to the side and Porky barking as he runs up to Joe.

"I'm home!" Joe yells, putting Porky but wanting Addison's attention.

"Hi!" she smiles, running up and hugging him.

"There she is," Joe smiles, squeezing her in a tight hold for a moment before letting go and pulling back to look at her. "You seem happy."

"I am," she smiles. "You're home, I missed you."

"I missed you too," he grins. "Was it as hard with Porky around?"

She shakes her head, following him to the kitchen where he grabs a water bottle from the fridge and takes a swig. "Nope, Porky helped keep me company and other than that I was on the phone with Hope a lot so it didn't really seem like I was alone."

He chuckles. "That's good. What do you wanna do today?"

"Kinda wanna just stay home. Hang out by the pool or something," she says, shrugging.

"That sounds amazing," Joe says, kissing her cheek. "I'm gonna go get changed."

"Okay," she laughs, letting Porky outside and leaving the door open since it's so nice out, then making her way upstairs to change as well.

The two do just as they said they would, hang out by the pool... and in it, all day. Simply enjoying the fact that they're together after Joe being away for a couple days. They know that another leg of a tour will be upon them soon and they need to cherish the time they have while they have it. Or else they'll regret it later.

Joe has thoughts on his mind, however, and it's clear to Addison that they're there. But she doesn't ask. It's none of her business. She just hopes it's not about her.

But it is.

He wants to propose. Hope was right.

But he shakes off the thoughts, somehow knowing that it would be too big of a step for Addison right now. But he wants to. He knows she's the one. He feels it in his bones. But it's too soon. He knows that. He can wait. He will wait.

The two of them lay in bed, putting on a movie, Joe picking one that both of them will like, knowing Addison will be asleep within the first thirty minutes of it being on.

He pushes play, the two of them get comfortable and soon he glances over, seeing that she's fast asleep. He chuckles, shaking his head and turning off the tv, turning to get comfortable and falling asleep soon afterward.
