"I think I may be your daughter."
The woman stares at them for a moment.
"Ma'am, are you alright?" Hope asks.
"Yes, I'm sorry," the woman says, laughing lightly. "Please, both of you, come in."
Hope and Addison enter the home and are led to the kitchen dining area.
"Would either of you like some water?" She asks.
"That actually sounds good," Addison says.
"I think both of us need some," Hope nods.
She grabs three glasses, fills them with ice water and brings them over.
"Please, sit," she tells them, setting the glasses down as well.
"Thank you," Addison says, taking a sip of the water she was given.
"So, um, you think you're my daughter."
Addison nods. "You're Jenna Reed, right?"
She nods. "I am, yes."
Addison nods, glancing around the home to see it basically torn apart.
"You'll have to excuse the mess and boxes. We're moving so the house is a complete disaster." Jenna says nervously.
"I understand that," Addison nods. "I just moved in with my boyfriend so..."
"Oh, wow, that's always a new experience," Jenna smiles.
Addison nods. "Yeah... I'm gonna be honest," she says. "I'm not really sure where to start."
"Well," Jenna sighs. "Why don't we start with where you've been the past 23 years?"
"Good point," Addison says, laughing lightly. "So, basically, I've been in Dallas, Texas for the past twenty three years with David and Jacklyn. They raised me along with their other two children. I was led to believe they were my parents. I did believe it, aside from the occasional 'I'm so different from them'. Then, a couple months ago, Jacklyn told me everything. How one night they watched me for you and left the window cracked so they could take me after the two of you went to bed. How they were struggling to conceive so they took me as a result. Then, when they got pregnant, it was too late to return me. So they didn't."
Addison looks up from her fingers to see Jenna crying.
"Are you okay?" Hope asks.
Jenna sighs, wiping her eyes. "I'm angry."
The girls both nod.
"But," Jenna continues, sniffling. "I'm also relieved."
"Really?" Addison asks, surprised.
Jenna nods. "For the fact that you're okay... and it seems they raised you well."
Addison sighs, letting out a small laugh. "It wasn't sunshine and rainbows, that's for sure."
Jenna sighs, reaching for her phone. "We've got to call the police."
"Please don't," Addison says, catching Jenna off guard.
"Why not?" she asks. "They took you. They stole you, Addison, when you were a baby."
"Well," Addison sighs. "David died a couple of months ago. That's what led Jacklyn to telling me. Apparently, she wanted to tell me for a while but he wouldn't let her. Plus, she has two kids and they've already lost their father. I don't want them to lose her too. I really just want to move on, get to know my real family. If you want to get to know me, that is."
