A few days after Joe's aunt confronted him about Addison, Joe finds himself in New Jersey, staying with Kevin and Danielle for a few days before going back to work with DNCE, them having a show in New York in a few days. He had brought Porky, knowing he didn't have enough time for him and wanting him to be thoroughly taken care of and loved.

He sighs to himself, clearing his throat and grabbing Porky's leash.

"Come on Pork, let's take a ride."

Getting him in the car, Joe pets him consistently for the entire ride, his heart aching at the thought of letting him go, but knowing it's the best thing for himself. Porky was a constant reminder of what was and what could've been. He couldn't do that anymore. He needed to move on. It was clear he had fucked up way too much. There was no going back. There was no reconciling. It was over.

Pulling up to the address Joe had gotten used to, he sits, staring at the house for a moment before getting out and taking Porky to the front door. He takes a deep breath, knocking three times before taking a step back, doing everything in his power to not look down at the dog he and Addison shared.

The door opens, Jenna's smile fading into a shocked look.

"Hi," Joe gulps. "Um, I'm- I'm not here for Addison. Well, not really. Anyway, um, this is Porky. We um, we got him together but I bought him for her. And I've kept him because well, I don't know. But, I don't have the time to take care of him like he should and he deserves better. So, I brought him hoping you'd take him and give him to her for me."

Jenna nods, holding her breath for a second. "Are you sure?"

Joe nods, still refusing to look at the pup. "I'm sure," he says, trying to keep his voice from shaking.

Jenna nods. "Would you like to say goodbye to him?"

Joe blinks a few times, letting out a shaky breath and crouching to the dog who gets excited.

Joe grins softly, petting him. "I'm gonna miss you buddy," he says. "But you get to be with mama now. I know you've been missing her."

Jenna watches with sad eyes, hearing Joe whisper "too" after his sentence.

Joe pets him once more, kissing his head before standing and handing her the leash. "I have his food and things in the car. I figured I'd bring that up after you take him inside."

She nods, taking him inside and shutting the door.

After she does, Joe sets all of Porky's things on the porch before getting in his car and leaving, tears pricking at his eyes as he does so. As they begin to fall, Joe pulls over, putting the car in park and sitting for a moment.

Before he can stop himself, his fist clenches, punching the steering wheel a few times before he stops, taking a deep breath in and letting the tears fall for the first time.

That was it. That was the last connection. They were done. It was official. Nothing tied them to one another anymore.

He puts the car in drive after a few more minutes, driving back to Kevin's, avoiding everyone and going to the in-home gym, pushing himself further and further, attempting to distract himself from what was really on his mind. The one person he didn't want to think about... was all he could think about... and that sucked.
