Do not ask where, do not ask when.
"Rogue, Milly, Daniel, Kitty, and Mae," Ororo motioned to each of the kids standing beside her, a bright smile on her face as she did. "This is Doctor Nikolas Stark. Nikolas, this is the kids that I believe will benefit the best from your help."
Nikolas nodded, a small attempt at a friendly smile as he looked over the five kids standing in front of him.
Rogue caught his attention first, her mind was much too loud and she had white stripes in her hair that the doctor liked the look of. She was around eighteen years old and she was nervous. She kept herself a few feet further away from the others beside her, as if getting too close to someone repulsed her, or was dangerous to some extent. Her thoughts lined up with the latter.
Daniel and Milly looked to similar to not be related, the same hair, the same nose, the same eyes shape, the same age, maybe eighteen or so, though the Doctor only barely noticed the last. He could feel their thoughts, though just barely, as if they each had something holding them back.
Kitty seemed to fade in and out of his sight, and it took Nikolas much longer than he would ever admit to realize it was in fact her gift. He averted his eyes quickly, solely out of fear of accidentally picking up the gift without the parameters found there.
Mae was the youngest, maybe ten. She was energetic, leaping around on her toes and acting as though she had an infinite amount of energy, the more she moved the more Nikolas wonder what gifts she possessed.
"It is good to meet you." He attempted to smile as he said it, though he wasn't sure if it reached his eyes.
Rogue looked up, attempting to meet the doctor's eyes as she spoke. "Is it true you can help with control?" She sounded terrified, but when Nikolas nodded she lit up. "Thank you, thank you." Rogue looked ready to cry, she reached out, as if she wanted to touch him but though better of it.
Nikolas smiled, "I can help all of you."
The statement excited Ororo, who grinned brightly and nearly leapt at Nikolas. "Alright, introduce yourselves, and let Nikolas know what powers you've got." It was terrible grammar, but Nikolas understood what she meant.
Daniel was the first to move, scratching at the back of his head and speaking softly. "I can create things, illusions with my mind." He looked unsure, as if that was not what his powers were specifically. "Sometimes it's bigger things like changing an entire room to look a certain way-" He trailed off.
Nikolas smiled, "That is a wonderful gift Daniel." The compliment seemed to make the boy proud of his gifts, the girl who looked like his twin spoke next.
"I can summon light beams and bend them to my will." Milly smiled brightly, her yellow dress swishing as she moved, "Well, I should be able to." She giggled, a sound that matched the bright personality she was already showing off.
