Warden's Daughter (Nanbaka AU)

A BABY!!

Kiji's POV
I was on my break and I was walking around. I looked out one of the windows of my building and saw something in the water. I thought it was trash until I took a second look and it looked like a baby! That probably drowned. I alerted the main building and they set someone out to retrieve the body.

Mitsuru's POV
I was sent out to check on something that Kiji saw. It was said to be a baby, but that is very unlikely. If it is one the poor thing is probably dead. I walked along the shore edge with a few other guards that came to help look. I looked ahead and saw something washed up on the shore. As we got closer I realized it was in fact a baby. Poor thing... I put on gloves and picked it up. It was face down in the sand. I turned it over. It was a little girl and she was... still alive! "Get in contact with the doctor and Warden! She is still alive!" I carried her in my arms as we ran to the infirmary. The two guards behind me on the radio calling it in. It felt wrong to let and infant just die that survived in the water for who knows how long.

We ran to the infirmary. When we got there the doctor was ready for us. He took the baby and laid her on a bed. He was asking us questions, but we couldn't really answer them. He also was ordering us and KAGU-8 for more needed items as he worked to keep her alive.

-Two hours later-

The Warden was here now and we were waiting for the doctor. The last I heard she was still alive, but that was about and hour ago. The guards that were with me before had left and the Warden and I were sitting in chairs. We didn't talk just waited. Finally Okina walked out of the room. The Warden and I quickly looked at him obviously asking one question. He walked over to us his face blank. "She is ok, but she is struggling to stay alive. She most likely won't make it." My heart sunk slightly. 

The Warden nodded, "Well I talked to the higher ups on the main land. They say we should give her a fighting chance. If she survives she will be kept here till they decide the best way to move forward. Right now they are looking at shipwrecks that have happened." 

"I highly doubt she could have been on a ship wreck that was close enough for her to wash up on the shore without being dead.", Okina mentioned.

I thought for a second. "Is it possible for her to have been with somebody else when the ship recked? The person might have died or she fell off something they were hanging onto?" 

"That seems much more likely then her being on her own." 

The Warden sighed standin up, "Keep me updated on her well-being." Okina nodded keeping a straight face. "Mitsuru let's go. I want you to call a meeting with the supervisors." I stood up.

"You got it!" I jumped through door and ran to my monitor room where I could make announcements. I guessed the Warden went to her office.

Hajime's POV
I was doing some filing after catching those idiots from cell 13. They have nothing better to do then make my job harder. I closed the filing cabinet when the overhead speakers came on. "Would all the supervisors come to the main building for a meeting! We have some very important information to discuss K~!" The person who I could only guess was Mitsuru said or more like yelled over the speakers. What's happening now? Maybe it is just about some new inmates or security.

Seitarou walked in carrying more files and a couple books. "Hey, sir what was the announcement about? I don't remember you having any meetings today." 

"I'm not sure. It's probably just new security." I left going to the main building.

After the thirty minutes it takes to get to the building I went through security. After that and answering fifty authorization questions I was in the break room that was outside the Warden's office and meeting room. A few other supervisors were here as well. "Hajime!!" I sighed hearing the Monkey yell. "Did you do something?"

 "No.", was all I said. 

"Then who did?! The Warden wouldn't call a random meeting for nothing!" I ignored him and walked over to one of the walls to wait till the meeting started. Others were talking about the meeting as well. Now come to think of it we did have a meeting on new inmates and security updates last week. They surly wouldn't have new security already. A few more supervisors came in and a fill in. 

"Did someone do something?", the Bird (Kiji) asked as he came in. 

"No, at least non of us have.", the Dog (Kenshirou) answered. 

"Then why are we here?", the Bird asked pulling out his mirror

"Could the Warden have to leave for a little while?", the Monkey finally said something smart for once.

Mitsuru burst through the meeting doors. "You can all come in now! We are ready for ya!" He walked back in and we all filed in behind him.

Warden's POV
I waited as everyone came in and sat down at their designated locations around the table. Once everyone one was seated the meeting started. "I'm sure you all are wondering why I called you all here without warning. Well it seems something has happened and I feel like it is important to tell you all.", I started with. I could tell some were interested by this others not. "Earlier today a person washed ashore.", I said blankly. This seemed to catch everyone's attention. 

"It wasn't a inmate was it?", Samon asked. 

"No, it most definitely wasn't." I stood up as I said this. 

"Then who did?", Kiji asked. 

I took a second and let out a sigh before speaking again. "A baby washed ashore near building 4." Their face looked shocked and some disturbed. "The baby is alive, and located in the infirmary. It is hanging onto life. As of right now we have no information on how it got to Nanbaka or what to do." They stayed silent. 

"Was it what I called in earlier?", Kiji asked slowly. 

"Yes, thanks to you it is alive.", I said giving a small nod.
