I hear footsteps coming closer to my bed. I didn't look at all. I closed my eyes to keep from looking at him. The bed dipped to my right as he sat down on the bed. "Marzil?...", he whispered. I didn't move from my spot. I don't know why I was so scared, but something told me that what I could do wasn't normal. I felt arms wrap around me and I froze. I still couldn't bring myself to look at him. "Marzil, what ever just happened I'm not mad. I'm worried about you. Are you okay?", he said softly while rubbing my back. I wrapped my arms around him hugging him. "I'm sorry... I just know that doing that isn't normal and I'm worried about what might happen now that someone knows." I whispered to him. We sat in silence for a while. "Would you like it if I told no one about this?", he asked. I pulled back looking at him. "I thought you couldn't keep secrets like that?", I said surprised. He raised an eyebrow. "How do you know I'm not supposed to tell about things like that?"

I covered my mouth and looked down again. "Bookworm?", he asked worry in his voice growing. I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck. "I may have read the Nanbaka Prison Rule book, Nanbaka's Guard Guide, and Prison Incident Report book that were in the library..." It went silent again. "Why am I surprised? This is you we are talking about.", he said and smiled. I smiled a little still nervous. "You aren't upset?", I asked. He chuckled and patted my head. "No, I'm not I think everyone knew you would end up reading them, but I think everyone hoped we would know when you did." I smiled and jumped on him making us both fall back. We laughed as we laid there. Once we stopped he sat back up. "By the way when did you read those books?" "I read the Nanbaka Prison Rule Book for the first time when I was... four, the Nanbaka's Guard Guide when I was six, and the Prison Incident Report book when I was seven. I read them all again when I was ten.", I answered. He looked at me with a stupid and confused face. I giggled and smiled at his reaction since he obviously wasn't expecting that. "You weird child.", he said. I fell back on my bed laughing. He got up walking away. I sat up quickly. "Samon wait." He looked back at me. "You aren't telling anyone about this right?", I asked nervous. "No, I won't. Just be careful that no one else finds out about it.", He said before leaving. I smiled to myself happy my secrets were safe with him.

Over the next few days Samon helped me learn how to control my powers better. We found that I not only could make things, including myself and other animals, levitate, but I also could teleport short distances, shrink or grow, and I could run really fast. Also, I had small attack abilities. It was fun to learn to control them. We almost got caught a few times training, but most people who have worked here for at least a month stop questioning things I get myself into. Those that have worked hear longer stop questioning things completely when it is Samon and I doing something. Though I do tend to drag him into things. I swear I have heard rumors of us dating, but to me that would never happen. I have never really been romantic. Though some of the new guards have asked me out before. That was weird and awkward after they find out I'm the Warden's daughter. Also that I am so young compared to them.

Right now I was training with Samon. It was the day before the New Year's Tournament I was excited. "Woah!", Samon shouted as I knocked his feet out from under him. I stood up and giggled slightly. "I hate how fast you are...", he said as he got up and we continued. Right now we were just working on finding openings to attack your opponent. I was good at attacking, but sometimes I couldn't find actually good openings. I would got for an attack, but he would block it or be able to do something to make my plan back fire. It was slightly frustrating since I could learn anything easily yet I couldn't get this down. "Eek!", I said as Samon grabbed my arm and spun me around grabbing my other arm as well. "You could have tried to knock one of my knees and had a better chance.", He said as he let me go. I sighed and we stopped as we heard the door open. We saw Hajime walking in towards us. "You two better not be causing problems again.", he said. I got a mischievous smirk on my face. "Maybe we are maybe we aren't." "Don't drag me into this. This was your idea. You want to get up to the rafters.", Samon said. Papa sighed and shook his head. "Forget it. Marzil your mother wants you to go to her office half an hour before the tournament." After that he left.

"Well I should go. If I want to get there on time.", I said as I went over to my bag and took out a jacket. Samon came over to me as I put on my jacket. "You did well today kid. You are getting better." I smiled slightly and quickly ran to the door. When I got to my room I tossed my bag under my bed and got in the shower. after that I changed into clean clothes and looked at the clock. It read 8:23 and the tournament started at 9. I took the vents going to my mothers office. I looked in before opening the vent so I wasn't interrupting anything. No one was in there besides my mother so I opened the vent and hoped down. "There you are Marzil. I was hoping you would be here soon." She said as she stood up from her desk. She walked around to me and motioned for me to sit with her on the couch that was in her office. Once we both sat down she turned to me and asked me, "Are you still wanting to go to the New Year's Tournament?" " Yes, I do still want to go.", I said in a calm voice even though I was extremely excited. "In that case you remember the rules about going?", she asked. "Yes, I do." She nodded and sighed. "Marzil when you watch this I don't want you to hate anyone after it." I was confused now. I knew from what I heard and have read that things could be violent during it, but I didn't know why she might think I would hate people for it. "Why would I hate anyone?" "Marzil these games can be highly violent and I don't want you to think differently about people because of what they do during the games." I smiled slightly and nodded saying, "Don't worry I won't" She smiled slightly and was about to say something when there was a nock on the door. "Come in.", Mom said as her stern voice returned. A guard came in the room. I remember seeing him in the main building a lot. in fact I believe he was one of the guards that would watch me when I was younger.
