THE FUTURE OF THE LEAF

CHAPTER 11 : New Enemies

It's a calm evening back in the hidden leaf. The trees are rustling as a warm breeze flow by. The kids are playing and the adults seem to be relaxed. The  scenery is blissful and so is the atmosphere. The people are engaging with others in a very humble manner.
It all seemed peaceful, and the two wandering time travelers moved through those people following the lead of a toad with a smile.
It was an ideal environment, just as the one Jiraiya and Minato had hoped for. The war had finally ended and everything was changed for the better, or so they thought.
They couldn't help but smile as they closed in the gap between themselves and their 3 little pup's.

As the 2 keep on moving towards the outskirts of the village following the toads lead, the scene shifts to the others.

Adult kakashi : I still can't believe this is really happening. It's like a dream, you know.
A small tear is visible in Kakashi's right eye. He still had his left eye covered even though he didn't had the Sharingan anymore.

Gai : yeah, it's obviously not something you get to witness each day. I'm just so delighted to have this reunion.
And with those words Gai begins to weep heavily as tears run down his cheeks.

Adult Kakashi : stop that Gai, man you're over-dramatic.

The three kids just stare at the two adults in confusion. They couldn't figure out why were the two adults in front of them crying.

Gai : hey, you say that Kakashi, but look at you, you're also crying, aren't you.

Kakashi : Good grief, I guess there's no helpin it.

And the two burst out laughing next, which further made the 3 time travelers even more confused.

Kid Kakashi : what's so funny? Why are you acting so weird. What happened to me? I can't believe this man really is me of the future.

Gai : well a lot of stuff happened, but I can assure you this that this man right here is truly our Kakashi.

Kid Kakashi scoffs, "then I'm disappointed".

To those words adult kakashi just let out a small giggle and said, "you would understand one of these days, and besides"... Then suddenly Kakashi stopped mid-sentence and looked over towards the opposite end of the field. He could sense the presence of a few people from the woods in a distance.

Kid Kakashi : besides what?...

He glares at adult kakashi but the adult version of himself complete ignores him.
Kid Kakashi follows adult Kakashi's gaze towards the woods and finally realised something was up. He could sense some people with high Chakra signatures from there.

Adult kakashi : Gai, do you sense that.?

Gai : I sure do, but I don't think it's something to worry about. From the looks of it, they don't seem that strong.

Adult kakashi : yeah, there seems to be about 20 shinobi's, probably rogue ninja's. I'm assuming it's a group made up of Chunin's and Jounin's from various lands.

Kid obito flinched at the sheer number that was mentioned by Kakashi. To think that they were surrounded by 20 rogue shinobi's each a rank or two above him, Obito couldn't help but feel terrified. He took a step back and so did Rin.

Adult kakashi looked over at the 2 frightened kids and said with a smile on his face, "don't worry, leave it to me. They are nothing more than mere bandits" and with that he suddenly disappeared.

Kid Kakashi tried to tag along with him but before he could say anything, his adult version had already moved out of sight. Damn he is fast, thought the kid.

Adult kakashi performed a shadow clone jutsu and hid the clone in the bushes in front of the woods to make sure, that none of the bandits could escape, just in case, while he himself took a detour and tried to get behind the enemy Ninja's. He was planning on taking them by surprise.

Bandit A using a binoculars declared, "seems that there are 3 kids over there and one adult whose crippled on a wheel chair. This should be easy".

Bandit B laughingly proclaimed, "hope they have a lot of money on them".

The 2 bandits started moving closer and closer when they suddenly heard a huge thud from behind them. As they turned around they saw few of  their comrades laying unconscious on the ground while a few fighting of against a certain Silver haired Man.

The 2 bandits couldn't believe that there numbers were dropping so quickly like a pack of cards. One of the two bandits charged in at the man without thinking, to which the silver haired guy simply side-stepped in order to evade and then chopped him on the back of his head, knocking him unconscious.

As this mysterious man approaches the final bandit, the bandit finally got a good look at the face of this mysterious enemy.
"You.. You are the 6th ho.. Hokage, copy ninja Kakash", but before he could complete his sentence Kakashi had already moved upto him and punched him in the gut knocking him down.

Kakashi dispersed the shadow clone that he had prepared earlier just in case.
After that he tied all the bandits together and brought them over to the others.

Kid obito : wow, that was quick. How long did it took you to defeat them all?

Kid rin : I'm not sure, but I guess it took him less than 3 minutes to beat them all up, restrain them and bring them here from all the way over there.

Kid Kakashi : seems I didn't turned out half bad either. Though I still don't like my... I mean his personality.

Adult kakashi just laughed at the remark.

Gai : excellent work, Kakashi. But I bet I could have done it a lot quicker than you.

Kakashi : good grief Gai, it's not a contest. And besides we now have the responsibility to turn them all over to the leaf police force.

Kid obito : leaf police force, huh? If I remember correctly, it's run by the Uchiha's, right. In that case, I'll go too.

Adult kakashi : no, you can't. You are in the future remember, plus the leaf police force is not strictly uchiha now. There are people from different clans working there.

Kid obito pouted, "you don't have to yell at me though".

Adult Kakashi : sorry about that. I got a bit carried away.

Kid obito : what, am I hearing things now. I...I...I can't believe that Kakashi just apologised to me. To me of all people.
"Did you hear that Kakashi", he said while turning his attention to kid Kakashi.

Kid Kakashi glared at obito intensely but didn't say a word.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the  hidden sound.

"Darn it, I can't believe this takes so much Chakra. I'm already exhausted and we still need to extract the 8 tails from killer bee after we are done with the hokage", complained akihiko.

Akio replies, "yeah, it's quite draining but just bare with it, Akihiko".

Kenji stared at the black ring in his index finger - his mother's wedding ring as if contemplating something and then looked up to his two siblings, "don't give up now. Don't forget why we are doing this. I can already smell our victory, we are so close to it. Remember our suffering and draw out your power from the pain inside and push forward with no setbacks, OK?".

The other two replied, "right, we'll give it our all for our one true goal".

Kenji : good.

With these words the scene again shifts back to Konoha.

As adult kakashi, Gai and the others continue their little conversation, two shadowy figures approach them...
