gojo knew that he was making a mistake, bringing y/n back. but he couldn't stand it.

he ran back into the school, heading right for ieiri's office. he knew her and her habit of arriving early. a lot of sorcerors ended up being that way as they didn't have very fruitful lives outside of their job. for once, gojo was thankful that ieiri was so devoted to her work, because it meant that when he forced his way into the depressing infirmary, ieiri was already seated at her desk.

the metal door swung open and slammed against the wall behind it with a loud clang. despite that, ieiri looked over at gojo with a bored expression, having already heard him coming.

"please help me," he immediately begged. he held y/n in his arms close to his chest.

ieiri stood up from her metal stood with a sigh, motioning over to an empty operating table.

"set her down," she said, reaching into a box on her desk for a pair of gloves. "you should take a seat, too. you're way too tense."

gojo nodded easily. he walked through the tiny room, gently setting her down and then pulling a folding chair over to sit directly beside her.

ieiri was quick to appear at y/n's side.

"she's been dead for a while now," she said. "why didn't you bring her sooner?"

"i wasn't supposed to," gojo sighed. "i couldn't help it."

ieiri let her reversed curse energy cover the entirety of y/n's body, though she saw how easily it was denied.

"she's not human," ieiri said skeptically. "who is she?"

"a curse."

"i'm going to need a little bit more than that before you expect me to save her."

"she... she's one of them." gojo looked down at his hands. he hoped that the simple answer would be enough for his old friend. thankfully, ieiri was as intelligent as ever.

"she's related to that patchwork curse, then," she hummed. "the one that itadori and nanami are pining after."

"you're not surprised?" gojo asked.

"i am," ieiri nodded. " but i'm more curious as to why you want me to save the enemy."

"she's not- she's not like them. she doesn't want to hurt us. we've been together for months now and nothing's happened."

"months? maybe she's just a spy that they planted."

"it's not like that," he replied.

"how do you know?" she quickly said back, barely letting him finish speaking.

"i can't imagine killing your own spy."

ieiri stared at gojo for a moment before turning back to look at y/n and pulling her gloves on tighter.

"i'll see what i can do, but i want the full explanation later."

the white haired man frantically nodded. "i'll do anything."

"for now, i just need you to sit there and be quiet."

gojo let out a deep breath and looked back down at the floor. he had faith in ieiri. he always did. what worried him most was what would come of saving her. would y/n even remember him? she'd hate him if she did. but what would happen if y/n didn't remember him? would he even have the courage to try to build back what they had together?
