there were no words in any language to describe how happy i'd been.

now, it seemed like even the most insignificant of things were the very things that woke me up. whether it be the silence of her steps or the slights of her hand when she touched me.

the most random of good or bad habits of hers turned into mere significant catalysts that gave me more reasons to love her more than i already did.

the moment was perfect, like every other moment.

sitting stretched over the couch with her between my legs and back against my chest while we slowly worked through a bowls worth of rice and vegetables that was enough for us to share.

the clouds passed over us slowly, and i think we had begun to sit silently not out of a lack of entertainment, but more so to try and imagine that we were the only people in the world at the moment.

there was nobody else that felt this way about her right now. it was only me. likewise, she was the only one that miraculously felt the same for me. we didn't need anything more.

"i wonder how many clouds can pass over us in a day?" she wondered aloud. "how many clouds do you think have been over this building since that tree grew here?"

the cherry blossom outside of the building shook slightly in the wind, letting its delicately pink leaves fall to the grass. it was one of the only things that i liked specifically about this area.

"probably thousands- no, hundreds of thousands. i've never seen the same cloud twice."

"that's a good point," she nodded. she took another scoop of food from the bowl and turned around to feed it to me, keeping her hand surprisingly still.

that was the last of the food unfortunately, so she sat the bowl down on the floor on the side of the couch for us to attend to later.

she turned over so that she rested on me and could face me fully. she wrapped her arms around my torso and her head laid on my chest.

"it must be nice," she mumbled.

"what?"

"looking so nice all the time. i've never seen you look bad before."

"that's not true," i laughed. "not compared to you."

she reached up to fiddle with hair in front of my eyes.

"it's your hair, i think. it's always so soft, and you have so much. the color is pretty, too. i love it."

"i can tell," i smiled. i gently held the hand that was tangled in my hair, silently telling her not to stop. "can i kiss you?" i stupidly asked.

she lifted herself up slightly.

"you don't have to ask," she smiled.

i leaned down and pressed my lips to hers, once quickly, then again, holding it for twice as long.

"i love this," i admitted.
