"Ew."
"Oh come on Kye, it doesn't sound that bad."
"Leo, it's literally a Halloween party in the Apollo cabin celebrating how, surprise, I'm not actually dead. When in reality, half of them are disappointed that I'm not. Sounds very appealing."
"But...there's going to be cookies!"
"I would not go if those cookies were covered in gold."
"Please?" I looked up from my book. I was sitting in Bunker nine, reading my book Wicked, talking to Leo as he worked on his complicated invention he tried to explain to me but failed to do so. It had been two weeks since I came back to camp unconscious and a week since I had got out of that damn infirmary. Halloween was coming up quick and everyone was planning to go to celebrate the holiday and my return because no one cared enough to give me my own party like the others before me. Real nice.
I was probably one of the only ones who wasn't planning to go, to the full dismay of my friends. If the last party was any similar to this one it's safe to say I wouldn't be missing much. The loud music and blaring lights would probably give me a seizure if I spend ten minutes in that party. And unfortunately, Leo desperately want me to go for some unknown reason, so much so he's pulling out all the stops like his desperate 'please?'
"Leo..." I groaned exasperated.
"Kyra..." he groaned, mocking my tone.
"Ya qamar, why would I go to something where everyone looks at me weirdly and says 'oh...you're here...that's so great...'" I reasoned, putting on an awkward expression and mocking a nasty tone.
"They...don't do that," he replied, unsure.
"You paused! You don't even believe what you're spouting!"
"Please?"
"..."
"For me?" I looked up from book, raising an eyebrow. He stared through my soul with those damn eyes making me groan in defeat. He pumped his fists in the air doing his giddy dance while sitting down as I rolled my eyes to the back of my skull.
"I hate you."
"I love you too, Princesa."
...
"Really?!" Elly exclaimed excitedly as I told her I was being forced to go to the party against my will.
"Elly!" I snapped, annoyed at her eagerness.
"Ah, I mean...oh no, that sucks. I'm so sorry..." She lied sympathetically, still smiling.
"You're a terrible actor."
"I know," she replied grinning. "So what are you going to go as?"
"What do you mean?"
"Your costume? I mean it is a Halloween party after all."
"Uh....." I trailed off, staring at Elly blankly.
"You do know Halloween is a week away right?"
"Uh..."
"Oh my gods, you're impossible. Come on, we're going shopping!" She announced, standing up and dragging me off the ground.
"We can't leave camp?"
"I meant shop at the Aphrodite cabin, dude. Obviously," she rolled her eyes at me before gripping my wrist in a iron lock and dragged me to the dreaded cabin. When we were walking/being dragged towards the Aphrodite cabin we ran into Jace, carrying a couple of broken training dummies in their hands.
