Chapter 69

Mariah and Jerome were sitting on the couch and watching Matilda. Mariah had a few bruises on her lip, and she couldn't hardly move her leg and her side was aching from where Monique was constantly kicking her.

Mariah hated how her and Monique left off. She wanted to tell her kids that she was going to work things out with Jerome, but she knew how her kids would react so she tried so hard to avoid it.

Eventually, it was going to come to the light.

"Baby, what's wrong?" Jerome asked Mariah.

"Nothing babe. It's nothing." Mariah lied.

"Yes there is baby. Now I know Monique and them won't understand where I stand now, but I'm telling you, I'm a changed man. And I don't want to live that life anymore. I cut all ties with Kyree and them, and I turned my life over to God and I want to make things right. I just hope you and the rest of them believe me." Jerome said.

"I believe you baby because I prayed on it. I just hate I told Monique I should've swallowed her. I feel so bad." Mariah cried.

"Its going to be alright baby. Pray on it, and ask God to forgive you and forgive yourself. When the time is right, she'll come around. You can't dwell on it forever." Jerome said kissing Mariah on the cheek.

"You're right boo, I love you." Mariah said.

"I love you more." Jerome said. "Always and forever."

"Y'all we together almost every day. Hell we might as well live together." Ahmad said.

"On God." Terrell said.

"Anyways, who's all coming to this couple thing with us?" Akira asked.

"Monique and August, Terrell and Laila, me and Jessica, Rashad and Keira, Hakeem and Amya, Arandae and his girlfriend Tracy, Andre Jr and his girlfriend Marina, and mom and Jerome." Anyae said.

"Um, does Monique know that Mariah is coming?" Terrell asked.

"Yeah she knows. August told her yesterday." Laila said.

"I hope shit doesn't go left because I really wanna enjoy this trip. And especially after I heard that Sonya is coming." Akira said.

"She is?? Omg I can't wait to see her. I haven't seen her or her kids since that night of the blow up." Ahmad said.

"How is she doing?" Amya asked.

"She's good," Akira said. "Her son passed away though due to suicide. So now it's KeyOnna and KeyAnna.  And they don't get along at all, so that's why Sonya and her husband are going on the trip with us.  Including her daughters."

"Dang I didn't know her son died, that's crazy." Ahmad said.

Monique, August, Jaylianna, and Jamani all came in the door when Ahmad finished talking.

"Hey hey hey." Monique said. 

"Hey everybody." Jaylianna said.  She instantly ran to Amya and she picked her niece up and kissed her cheek. 

"Oouu give me and give me," Akira said to Monique.  She grabbed Jamani and Monique laughed and shook her head.  Everybody loved Jamani.

"You gone stop taking my baby away from me every time I come in the room Akira." Monique laughed. August sat on the couch and Monique fell onto his lap. 

"Man Monique, when you gone have another baby?" Laila asked. 

"When Mr. Alsina over here put a ring on this finger." Monique said holding up her hand and pointing to her ring finger.

"Which will be very very soon." August said kissing Monique on the back of her neck. 

"Awwww it's the energy for me." Akira said.  "Must be nice."

Ahmad kissed his teeth, and took out of his phone.  He decided to hit up Peaches.  She told him she was at work, but when she got off that he could come over.  It wasn't no secret that their relationship was on the rocks, but Akira feels like their relationship can be somewhat saved. 

"Well on that note, I'm glad that we're going on this couples trip.  I feel like it will be good." Laila said.

"Right." Terrell said.

"I can feel hell of tension in this room right now." August said.

"Ain't no tension big dawg," Ahmad said.  "It's just females always think their right when they know that they are wrong."

"Tuh! I beg to differ." Akira laughed.

"Man, I'm out.  I can't deal with this shit anymore." Ahmad said getting up. 

"Where can you go Ahmad? I got the keys bitch boy." Akira said.  She handed Jamani back to Monique and she hopped out of August's lap to sit next to him holding her baby. 

"Man Akira, get the fuck on yo." Ahmad said walking out the door. 

"We'll see y'all later." Akira said leaving out the door.  Everybody could hear the two still arguing.  Everybody shook their heads and then they started laughing.

"Them two right there just need to fuck." Terrell said.

"Akira told me that they haven't had sex in months. She said Ahmad always comes home late with hickeys on his neck and everything.  She said she wanted out, but she still has faith." Amya said. 

"I don't know what type of faith she got." Hakeem joked. 

"Keem shut up." Monique said.

"I'll book the reservations for the couples trip right now.  Now when y'all wanna leave because it is Thursday, and the couple retreat last for a week." Monique said. 

"We can leave Saturday." Anyae suggested.

"Make sure that's good with everybody which I'm sure it is, but just make sure." Monique said while looking on her phone.  August grabbed Jamani and held his son.

"It's okay." Anyae said. 

"Alright, we leave this Saturday and we come back that Sunday." Monique smiled.

"Great." Anyae said.
