17 : Caught Off Guard

YUXIN'S POV

(April 20, 2020. Monday, around 2am)

Someone suddenly came in from the entrance door, so, I look at that person.

I was shocked when I saw her. What is she doing here?

"Nana?", I stand up after I mentioned her name.

She didn't budge, so, I notice that she's shy. I just went towards her.

"What are you doing here?", I said calmly as I arrive in front of her.

She looks at my eyes.

"I know that it's your birthday, I just want to come... that's why I'm here.", she said.

"How did you escape?", I asked.

"Ahh ehh... Disguise.", she said.

Why does she look unsure? Hmp!

"Who helped you?", I asked.

Her eyes widened.

"Huh? No one.", she answered.

I just nodded because I don't want to make out conversation longer.

"Let's sit on the couch.", I said, and I went towards the couch first. I felt that she followed.

"Yuxin, this is my gift for you.", she said after we sat on the couch.

I look at the thing that she holds, and I saw a tiny box.

"You don't even need to do this, but thank you.", I said, and I took her gift.

I was about to put it on my side, but she suddenly speaks.

"Open it."

I look at her and she looks like she wanted me to open her gift.

So, I open it and I saw a...

"RING?", I said in an interrogative way.

"Hm, singsing... obviously.", she said seriously and sarcastically.

"Tsk. I mean, why?", I asked clearly.

"I wanted to say to you clearly that I am serious about what I've told you... that I love you.", she said. I look at her and I caught her staring at me.

I sighed.

"I refuse to accept your gift.", I said firmly, and her expression saddened.

"Okay, sorry. I'll leave. Happy Birthday.", she suddenly said then walks out, immediately.

Is she about to cry? Haist.

'I'm sorry, Nana. I don't want to love a woman. Not another woman again.'

"Hey, what did you do to her again?", Yuyan suddenly asked.

I shrugged.

"Again? As if I intentionally hurt her.", I said.

"Then why did she act like that?", Zhengting who suddenly pops up in front of us asked.

"Hm, I rejected this gift from her.", I said and showed them the gift that Nana left.

"Why did you reject?", Jiaqi who's behind me asked.
