Part 22 - Locked in

After finding the bottle, John B explained to the others what he had found out. They were all shocked but pulled themselves together to come up with a plan on how they would get Oc off the drugs and how they would get her back to her regular self.

That night, when Oc came home, she went to the washroom to stash her new bottles, and went to Jj's room to grab a change of clothes. Before she could exit the room, they had locked her in, boarded up the door, boarded up the window and they had all left. Jj stayed on the couch just to make sure that she couldn't get out. Just before leaving, Pope grabbed her new stash and took it with him to throw it into the Ocean. 

Every hour, Jj would knock on the door asking her if she was okay and she always answered the same. "Jj. Get me out of here." In a neutral tone. He would reply "I can't" and then their short conversation would be over. This cycle repeated itself identically for the first seven hours until it hit 4 AM. He knocked on the door and for the first time in weeks, she showed the tiniest glimpse of emotion. "Jj?" She said while crying. She was rolled up in a ball, but Jj couldn't see that of course. They were on different sides of the door. Both sad because she seemed in pain and happy that she was showing emotion, he says "Sunny? How you holding up?" "I-i-I'm so cold." She was shivering from withdraw (not having taken the drugs in several hours). "Alright why don't you grab one of my hoodies and a pair of sweatpants. Just a few more hours, okay?" "O-okay." 

All he wanted to do was barge into the room and give her a big hug, but he knew it wouldn't help her. He just needed to let her sweat it out.

A couple hours went by and the rest of the pogues got back. It was almost 7 Am. Kie walked over to Jj and said "how is she?" He replied "ask her yourself" with a smile. John B went over to the door. She was no longer shivering nor crying and she said "John B? Are you there?" "Yeah Oc I'm here. How are you feeling?" "I'm okay I guess. Maybe you guys can let me out now?" They were all shocked with her complete change of attitude. It felt good to have their friend back. "Um yeah, yeah" he replied.

Once they had gotten her out, they let her take a hot shower while Kie and Sarah brewed her some tea. She explained to them how Spencer must have slipped her a pill before he had attempted to rape her and how it randomly kicked in when she was yelling at him. She described the sensation as an uncontrollable switch. She said that she felt obligated to keep going to meet him for more and how she had no control on her actions. "It was like a jail in my own mind. No control. All my emotions were locked in a cell." They all hugged her tightly and Jj said "I'm never letting you out of my sight again." She smiled at him and then Pope asked "but why did he do it? What was he getting out of it?" She replied "he was obsessed with me. He hated the fact that I loved Jj more than him and so if I couldn't love him more, then he felt the need to not let me love at all." They all hugged again and...
