Part 18 - Last day

Things started to get back to normal; Oc now slept in Jj's bed, the two were always together, and he was slowly gaining her trust back.

They were all hanging out on the docs when John B said "guys I just realized that this is our last week of freedom." They all look at him until Pope realizes and says "oh yeah... school is starting up again." Jj replies "ha I never show up." Oc nudges him and says "well now you're gonna have to because I'm enrolling to Dare county." He replies "alright then" and puts his arm around her. John B then says "anyways, how was it last night?" while looking at Oc and Jj. He replies "I'm confused. What do you mean?" They all start laughing so she says "I don't get it... what?" Sarah catches her breath and says "it goes something like, take it slow." Kie says "put it down on me." John B says "I said jump on it." And then finally Pope says "ride like a pony." The couple turn bright red and start laughing. Oc then says "oh my god I didn't realize we were so loud." The group just laughs and Kie says "we are just glad you guys are back to normal."

During the last week of summer, the group spent every second enjoying everything the best that they could. Jj and Oc were still going strong along with the other two couples. Oc still hung out with Topper and the two had a great friendship. Jj wasn't a fan, but he learned to accept that their friendship meant a lot to her. It also helped that none of the Kooks would be at school since they all went to their fancy rich school. It was just gonna be Jj, John B, Pope, Oc and Kie since she transferred from the Kook academy to Dare county. She wasn't a fan of the kook academy.

On the last day of summer, the group had been woken up by a loud banging on the front door. "Open up! Kildare county sheriff!" John B got up to go answer the door. When he opens the door, he sees sheriff Peterkins and she says "hey there John B. Is your sister home?" While still in bed, Jj looks at Oc confused. "Uh yeah. Just um come in I guess."

Oc and Jj's pov

Because Oc doesn't do well around cops, she started to have a panic attack. She started pacing, was unable to breathe and then had a complete meltdown on the floor. Jj was doing his best to calm her down but he was unsuccessful. Kie went into Jj's room to see what was going on with her since the sheriff needed to talk. She says "Oc what are you doing? C'mon you gotta go talk to the sheriff. Oh crap. The sheriff." She goes down on her knees and tries to help Jj comfort her but nothing is working. Suddenly deputy Thomas bursts into the room and grabs her. She's yelling and crying but he doesn't seem to care. He puts her into the squad car and drives off with sheriff Peterkins.

Jj, Sarah, John B, Pope and Kie's pov

Jj says "shit. Shit! SHIT!" John B then says "we've gotta go get her." Kie then suggests "we can take my car." Kie decides just to take John B and Jj with her. On their way, there she says "guys she looked so scared." Jj replies "I know" in a worried tone.

Once they get to the police station, they spot her through a window and see Oc in a room getting investigated. She's crying and barely saying a word. Once Peterkins exits the room, she walks over to John B, Jj and Kie and says "what are you kids doing here?" John B replies "We came to get my sister." "Now why is that?" "Because she doesn't do well around cops, they make her nervous." Jj then says "why the hell are you questioning her anyway?" in a rude tone. Kie then says "Jj" because she knows that making the cops angry won't help the situation. Sheriff Peterkins replies "we are building a case on her mother. Jamilah Williams who we are currently trying to find." John B then says "Look, sheriff she has no idea where her mother is and she hasn't had contact with her for years. She is currently having a panic attack since you took her. We really need to just get her out of here." "I understand. You may go see her and take her home, but if you know anything about her mother, you tell me." As Jj rushes towards Oc, John B replies "thank you sheriff and goes after Jj with Kie."

Jj enters the room and sees Oc sitting on the chair crying. He gets down on his knees next to her and hugs her. He says "I know baby it's okay. It's over now. I'm here." She keeps crying and turns towards him to hug him. She tries to speak "Jj they, they, my m-mom and I-i can't b-breathe-" He cuts her off and says "I know. I know. I'm here. We're gonna take you home." He kisses her forehead and helps her get up.

They bring her home and she doesn't speak. She went straight to Jj's room and locked herself in there alone. She didn't want food or to talk to anyone. She spent the rest of the day and night there alone. Jj knew she needed some time so he didn't bother her. That night, he slept on the couch.
