*Dean POV*
Dean woke the next morning with a pounding in his head and a warm body beside him. He peeled his eyes open, briefly confused about what had happened the night before. However when his eyes landed on Riley's sleeping face beside him, the memories of the previous night flooded back to him. A small smile tugged on his lips and he let his eyes roam over her face. Admitting his love for Riley had been a terrifying yet exhilarating experience for Dean. He hadn't even intended to confess his love, but the thought of losing Riley terrified him much more than telling her the truth. Once he'd said it, the words seemed to come naturally to him. He reached over and brushed a strand of hair out of her face, causing her to stir. Her eyes fluttered open and met his.
"Hey." Riley whispered. She closed her eyes and stretched before looking up at him again.
"Hey." Dean smiled. "How's your head?"
"Hurts." Riley mumbled, burying half of her face in the pillow.
"I'm not surprised, you drank a lot." Dean smirked.
"So did you." Riley stuck her tongue out at him.
Dean chuckled and wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer. Her head rested on his chest and she cuddled closer to him. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head. Riley looked up at him but her smile slowly faded.
"What's wrong?" Dean asked nervously.
"Did you really mean it?" Riley whispered. "What you said last night?"
Dean released a sigh of relief and chuckled. He squeezed her closer and kissed the top of her head again.
"Every word." Dean mumbled into her hair.
"Good." Riley smiled up at him.
The motel door swung open and Sam strolled in, carrying a tray of coffees. Dean jumped slightly. In all the jumble of recent events, Dean had briefly forgotten that they still shared a room with Sam.
"Good morning love birds." Sam grinned, placing the coffees on the table.
"You're up early." Dean raised a brow.
"So are you considering how late you guys came back last night." Sam smirked.
"You were awake?" Riley looked up at him in surprise.
"Riles, half the guests here were awake. You two weren't exactly quiet." Sam snorted.
"All we did was talk." Dean furrowed his brows.
"Very loudly." Sam nodded.
Riley buried her face in the blankets and groaned. When she emerged again, there was a pink tinge to her cheeks.
"Sorry, Sammy." Riley said.
"Hey I'm just pleased you guys are finally on the same page." Sam grinned. He looked at Dean and raised a brow. "Took you long enough, by the way."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Dean said.
"You've been pining over her for months but you've always been too scared to do anything about it. I'm pleased you finally grew some balls and plucked up the nerve to tell her how you really feel." Sam grinned.
Riley snorted a laugh and pressed a kiss to his jawline.
"I didn't pine." Dean scoffed.
"Whatever you say." Sam smirked. "Anyway, if you two are all done cuddling, I got us a new case."
