*Riley POV.*

"I did not!" Riley exclaimed with a grin.

"You did, that poor kid was terrified." Dean smirked, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

The two of them walked side by side back to the motel. They'd been to the local store to grab a few bits for them and Sam.

"She was probably scared of you. To a kid you're a giant." Riley raised a brow.

"Either way it's probably a good thing we won't be going to back to that store any time soon." Dean shrugged.

Riley giggled and held onto the hand that draped over her shoulders. For a moment, she felt like they were just a regular couple, living a regular life. Things between Dean and Riley were going great and Riley was truly happy for the first time in a long time. They walked up to the motel and Dean opened the door and stood back for Riley to enter first.

"Hey Sammy." Riley called out, placing her bag on the table.

"I'll call you later." Sam mumbled to his phone and quickly hung up. He spun around and smiled at his brother and friend. "Hey guys."

"Who was that?" Dean asked.

"Just an old friend from college." Sam said dismissively. Riley got the impression Sam was lying, but she kept quiet. She got the feeling Sam's secret phone conversation involved Dean's deal.

Dean seemed satisfied with the answer however, and quickly moved on. Riley reached into the bag he was holding and pulled out the newspaper they'd bought.

"Are you that eager to find a new case?" Dean raised a brow at her.

Riley rolled her eyes and unfolded the newspaper, scanning the headlines. An alarming story instantly caught her attention.

"Got something. I think." Riley said, capturing the boys' attention.

"What?" Sam asked.

"A man died a couple days ago after landing on a power saw." Riley read out. "Says here there were no signs  of struggle."

"Where?" Dean asked.

"Uhh," Riley's eyes scanned the page again. "Cicero, Indiana."

Dean tensed slightly and Riley gave him a suspicious look.

"I don't know, I don't think it's our kind of case." Sam shook his head.

"Shouldn't we at least check it out?" Riley raised a brow.

"I agree with Sam. Not our case." Dean said quickly.

"What the hell is wrong with you guys?" Riley took a step back from them both. "Do I need to get the holy water out?"

"No, I just don't think going to Cicero is a good idea." Dean shrugged.

"Why?" Riley said, placing her hands on her hips.

"I just think it's a waste of time." Dean said, shaking his head.

"Since when is a case a waste of time? You're usually the first one to pack up and leave when there's a potential for killing something evil." Riley argued.

Dean ran a hand down his face and sighed. "Alright, fine, we'll check it out."

After finally convincing Sam, they all packed up their stuff and hit the road. The journey was surprisingly tense to Riley. Sam decided to sleep the entire journey so he didn't have to partake in any conversation. And Dean was silent the whole way, gripping the steering wheel with a clenched jaw. Riley couldn't help but feel like Dean was worried about something. Whatever it was that was bothering him, he was keeping it secret from Riley.
