15: How to enjoy life in an alien country

SUZY'S POV

"Liam! Saan ba kayo nanggaling----" napatigil agad ang mom nito when she finally get a close look at us.. At our drenched selves.

"Oh my God, Liam! Anong nangyari sainyo? Bakit ang basa-basa niyong dalawa???"she exclaimed while giving us a questioning look in her eyes.

And I couldn't meet her eyes now as I felt so embarrassed with what happened earlier. I was wearing his suit jacket right now while quivering in cold habang bitbit ko ang sapatos na ipinahiram nito sa'kin kanina. Pagkatapos ng halik na 'yon kanina, tahimik na 'kong sumama rito papunta rito sa harapan ng hotel. It just felt so awkward to talk about it.

"Wala, mom. I just taught Suzy some swimming lessons and you have nothing to worry about it dahil natuto na rin siya sa wakas."

Hearing that with his proud voice, a disapproval groan escaped from me. Causing him to give me a knowing glance at my way with a darn small smirk in his mouth.

This jerk! Talagang nang-aasar pa!

"Mas mabuti pang umalis na tayo ngayon rito before we'd froze here to death, mom. Let's just talk about this at home, okay?" Aya na niya rito before he opened the car door for her.

Kahit parang naguguluhan ito, pumasok naman agad ito sa loob ng sasakyan. While his dad just silently walked to the other door at the front seats while giving us a knowing grin.

"Get in now, Suzy.."

When he uttered that, I gave him a hesitant look dahil tumutulo pa rin ang damit ko hanggang ngayon.

"What's wrong?"

"Basang-basa pa 'tong damit ko. Don't you think it won't be right na sumakay pa'ko diyan ngayon?"

His brow quirked up at that in question but after a few seconds, agad namang tumango-tango ito as if he understood me.

"Ah.. takot ka baka mabasa mo ang upuan? Well, pwede namang magpaiwan na lamang tayo rito and we can just continue our swimming lessons back there. Don't you think it was a wise idea from me hmm?"

When he teased that with a playful wink in his eyes, inis na pumasok na lamang ako sa loob while glaring at him. Much to my irritation, the bastard just widened his grin at me na halatang nang-aasar pa lalo.

Nang makapasok ito sa harapan, the car soon began to move forward to the highway and back to their home.

"Suzy, magbihis ka na agad ng tuyong damit to prevent yourself from getting a cold. There's  a few sleep wears in the wardrobe in your room. Use it. And you too, Liam. Magbihis kana agad because we still have to talk about your impending engagement. Baka akala mo nasiyahan ako sa biglaan mo nalang na pag-iwan kanina sa future bride mo. I just hope na hindi nagalit si Magi sa'yo because if she was? Hindi ko talaga alam kung anong magagawa ko sa'yo, Liam."

At the mention of that 'future bride', I don't know why I suddenly felt something heavy in my chest.

Siguro dahil bigla ko lang naalala na ikakasal na pala ang taong kahalikan ko kanina and it was stupid of me to forget that!

"Oh yeah. I'm sorry, mom. Nakalimutan ko nga palang balikan si Magi kanina but don't worry.. Kakausapin ko  siya bukas."

"Ah excuse me.. Mauuna na po pala akong umakyat sainyo... Kailangan ko na po kasing magbihis ngayon.."

When I interrupted that, agad ng nagsitinginan ang mga ito sa'kin.

"Yes.. you may go now, Suzy.. Make sure to wear something warm tonight and drink a glass of water before you sleep para hindi ka lalagnatin bukas, okay?"
