Too Much Work

"What do you want, Black." I say, not unkindly, just tiredly.
"Just wanted to see what you were doing, that's all." He says. Not sounding to snarky, which is the first.
"Well, as you might be able to tell, I'm trying to get some school work done so I can have a work-free weekend." I say.
"Well, if you do get your work done, and you have a work-free weekend, maybe you can spend it with me." He says, with a smirk.
"Can't. I already have plans. That's why I'm trying to finish my work now." I say, feeling a bit guilty.
"Oh, well who's the lucky person your going to hang out with." He says, sounding a bit disappointed. Oof, got myself into a bit of a pickle here.
"Just a friend." I say, trying to not say names. And to be honest, I'm telling the truth. I do consider Remus a friend. I don't know why I'm not saying his name though, I mean, we are just hanging out. And I bet it won't matter to Sirius. Right?
"Does this person have a name?" He continues to interrogate.
"Yes, as a matter of fact he does." I say. You know what, it's nothing. I'll just say Remus. Not a big deal.
"And, what's this mystery person's name?" He questions with an eyebrow raised.
"Remus." I say. Done. That was easy. Don't know why I was nervous.
"Oh, okay. Well have fun then." He says. He then turns back to face his friends.

He sounded really upset though. He didn't even try to hide it. I watched him as he slowed walked further and further away from me. Maybe that's why I was nervous to tell him I was going with Remus. I felt that I knew he would get upset. Why though? He couldn't possibly have feelings for me. I don't have feelings for him. I make that very clear. I decide to not worry about it and start focusing on my work. I was getting real into it until someone came over to me. Again.

"Oh, hey Lily." I say. Sounded more tired than ever. And it was only 2:00 p.m.
"You should take a break, Y/N." She says. Ugh, I hate when her mom mood kicks in.
"I'm fine Lily, really." I fibbed. I was truly tired. I just wanted to take a nap.
"I don't believe that for a second. I mean look at you, you have stacks of books in front of you. Papers spread out all over the table, and you have light bags under you eyes." She states.

I mean, she wasn't wrong about anything. My books are in 3 different piles. I have papers all over the place. I don't even know which papers are for which subject. And I can just feel the weight under my eyes. I don't know why I was so tired. It was only around 2:00. I guess I'm overworking myself. I've always have good greats. I don't know why it's so hard for me right now. I might have to cancel my plans with Remus because of all my work. I mean, I haven't even started anything. I kept getting distracted.

"You're right Lily. Like always." I say while placing my head over my piles of work.
"It alright. I can help you." She says.
"No no, go enjoy your weekend. I don't want to ruin it because I can't focus on my work." I tell her.
"Are you sure. I'm sure James would understand." She says.
"No no, just g- wait. Did you say 'I'm sure James would understand?'" I said, reprocessing what she just said.
"Oh, yeah. James asked me to go to Hogsmeade with him this weekend and I actually said yes this time." She says.
"OH MY GODRIC, LILY! AND YOU DIDNT CARE TO TELL ME?!" I whisper yelled. I was happy though.
"Sorry sorry, I'm tell you now though, aren't I." She says, with her hands up in signal for me to calm down. "Are you sure you'll be okay?" She finished.
"Yes Lils, I'll be just fine." I tell her reassuringly.
"Okay, let me know if you need any help though, okay?" She says.
"Okay lils. Thanks." I say. I love my Lily. Wouldn't know where I would be without her.

——lil time skip ——

Its about 11:00 p.m. now. I've been doing work since like 1:00 p.m. I took breaks through my time, but rarely. I know it's sounds unrealistic but I'm not kidding. I haven't ate dinner yet though and I'm starving. I would go to the kitchen, I know my ways, but I am almost done my work. I just have to do one last essay. Then after that, I will have a work-free weekend.

Just as I was about to lift my quill and start writing, I could feel my eyes get heavier and heavier. I was slowly falling asleep, I was just to tired to notice. The last thing I remember was my head falling onto the table, and before I knew it, I was asleep.

Sirius' POV:
The boys feel asleep before me. Quite quickly actually. I could never fall asleep that easily. I decided to just go down to the common room and relax there. The fire place always seem the calm me down. I slowly get out of bed, trying to be as quiet as possible. I slip out of my dorm and head down to the common room. I look around to find no one. Wait, actually. Is that Y/N? I walk closer the the table where I notice papers spread out everywhere, and books stacked to where it could almost reach the ceiling. She must've been up all night doing work. Poor thing. It looks like she still has another assignment. I remember her telling me she had a bunch of work to do. I guess she really wanted that work-free weekend. I wish I helped her, but I doubt she would've let me. Maybe I'll leave her some notes she could use to write the essay. That would be the right thing to do, right? I mean I already finished so, it won't hurt to help. I suck at nice gestures. I never thought I'd do one, for anyone, until I met Y/N. She makes me want to try, y'know. It pained me when I found out Remus asked her out this weekend. Can't believe moony got the girl this time.

I look down at her, she looks so beautiful when she's asleep. Her hair spread out perfectly across the table. Her lips parted just enough to let the air enter through her lips. The light hitting her cheekbones, making them look so defined. Her skin was glowing against the brightness of the fire. She was just, perfect. If I'm ever going to try and get this girl, I need to make a move quick. Remus is already ahead.

I decided to lay her on the couch for the time being. I had to carry her bridal style. Her hair was perfectly dangling as her head leaned back. I cleared the table off and put her essays in the assigned books and put them in her bag. After clearing the table, I put her bag on the chair. I then walked over to her, laying a blanket on top of her.

"Goodnight, beautiful." I whispered. And with that, I walked back up to my dorm. I went back to my bed. It was 11:45 now. I really need to get sleep if I want to have the energy to win her over. With her on my mind, I was finally tired enough to drift off peacefully.

(A/N: this wasn't my best but I'm trying y'all. But here is another chapter for today because I felt bad for not uploading for like a week. Hope you guys are enjoying. Have a great rest of you day.)
