A Decision and a Rejection

I woke up to a lovely morning. A bright, clear, blue sky with the sun beaming into the castle windows. I sit up and look around, the girls are just beginning to wake up as well. Aww, they are so adorable I think to myself with a grin.

"Morning, girls." I hear Marlene mumble.
"Mmm" Mary groans.
"Good morning, ladies." I say, I'm obviously more awake than the others.
"Mmhm." Alice also groans.
"Good morning, everyone." Lily says. She is a morning person so she can wake up easier.
As Lily starts to get up, she starts conversation, "How did you lot sleep?" She asks.
"Great, in fact, it was great that I would love to continue sleeping." Marlene says. She's a bit cranky in the mornings.
"I slept fine, thanks for asking, Lils." Alice says. She has always been the nicest one out of all of us.
"I slept pretty good as well, though I kept waking up for some bizarre reason." Mary says.
"Oh, well that's good. Y/N?" Lily turns her head.
"Yes, I slept very well." I said.

My mind kept trialing back to last night. When I had that talk with Sirius. I wonder if I should tell the girls. Maybe they could help. But, it's really not my information to share. Today is Friday, Potions is first period. I can speak with Sirius then. But right now, I have to get ready.

As the girls and I continue our morning conversation, we finish getting ready. We go down to the common room and right to the Great Hall. It was about 8:30 and our first class starts at 9:00. I'm glad we have a delayed school day today, I went to bed quite late last night and I needed the sleep.

The girls and I find a place at the table, we pile our favorite breakfast food into our plates and start gobbling it up. Marlene, who is on my left, is literally inhaling her food. Lily, Alice, and I just look at her. Mary was to tired to even notice.

"What?" She mumbled, with eggs in her mouth. She also gave a shrug.
"I'm just waiting for you to choke." I tell her.
"Bitch." She says, jokingly of course.

We all just laugh at the situation, until our laughs died immediately due to the Marauders. Don't get us wrong, we like them and all, but they are too much in the mornings. They have to much energy and are too loud. We see them walk over to us, with smirks on their faces. Remus and Peter, being the most modest and polite out of the four, were right behind Sirius and James. They weren't smirking, in fact, I'm pretty sure they are sleep walking due to how tired they look.

"Good morning, ladies. How are you all doing on this lovely morning." Sirius greets. Classic Sirius Black.
"We are doing well, Black." Marlene answers for the five of us.
"Will, that's good to hear." Sirius says, giving a wink afterwards.

The boys sat next to us, to on each side of us. I was in between Marlene and Lily, James was next to Lily and Remus was next to Marlene. In front of us were the three girls, Marlene being in between Alice and Mary. Next to Alice was Peter, next to Mary was Sirius. We were all squished together. This was pretty much our permanent seating arrangements.

Everyone was having there own little chats with each other. I wasn't really chatting, I was eating. It was 8:30 now and I was still eating. I'm quite the slow eater, I hear it's healthier for you. I look up at everyone, listening in on conversations here and there. I met Sirius' eyes as when they met mine. It wasn't awkward or anything, it was just a I-don't-know-what-to-talk-about look. We both give a light chuckle as the conversations dialed down.

"What's so funny?" Lily asks. The whole group went silent and looked at me as if I was going to say something important. Now this is awkward.
"Oh nothing." Is all I can get out, I had nothing else to say.
"I mean, something must be. You laughed." Marlene says. I don't understand why it's such a big deal.
"It's nothing, guys." I say.
"Okay then." Lily say, she goes back to speaking with Alice.
