The Next Day

After last nights 'game night', we all went to bed, well most of us. I would be lying if I said I was able to sleep. For some reason, I just couldn't close my eyes without thinking about the events that took place. It was so weird and chaotic and sudden, words can't even describe how I felt. Meeting Johnathan was great, telling Sirius how I felt was also reliving but, his reaction after made me feel....guilty? I don't know, I'm a mess.

Which brings us to the morning. I woke up feeling tired as heck because I only got like a few hours of sleep. When the game ended, it was like 12:00, and then I couldn't sleep for like an hour or two, and now it's 7:15 a.m. I just want to know why and how we play til 12. I mean, I guess it's because we had to wait 7 minutes each turn... but whatever. I'm glad it's over, and I'm glad James got the kiss he wanted with Lily. Lily told me and the girls all about it. She seemed to enjoy herself for the most part so that's good for the both of them.

It's now 7:20, I'm always the first one up. I go to the bathroom, do my routine and then change into clean clothes for the day. Today I just wore a grey - tight crop top with grey - baggy sweatpants. I also put a brown flannel over it just so I don't get cold. Lastly, I put on some converse and I'm ready for the day. I didn't put too much makeup on, I just put on mascara and chapstick. That's what I usually do anyway, sometimes I would fix my eyebrows but I didn't feel like it.

I walked out of the bathroom to find Lily awake.

"Good morning." Lily says to me.
"Good morning, Lils." I say back.
After Lily yawns, "How did you sleep?" She asks.
Should I lie or say that I only got like a few hours of sleep. I mean, it doesn't matter I guess.
"I slept fine, thanks. And you?" I return the question.
"Good good." She says.
"That's good." I say.

It was quiet after that. That was an awkward conversation. Oh well, it's probably nothing.

"So Y/N, how was...last night?" Lily asks out of the blue.
"It was good." I say blankly.
"Good good." She quickly replies. "Yea so what did you and Sirius do?" She finally pops the question.

I knew this was going to pop up in conversation sooner than later.

"Can we not-"
"Oh no, yea yea. Sorry. We don't have too." She quickly rambled.
"Sorry. I just don't feel like-"
"Right, of course of course. I respect your decision." Lily says, cutting me off again.
"Thanks." Is all I say.

After another moment of silence, I finally spoke up.

"So you and James..?" Is how I start off my question.
"Yeaaahhh?" Lily says, probably scared for what words are coming out of my mouth next.
"You guys...going to like....you know...da-"
She once again cuts me off, "Absolutely not. I would never. That was just for the game." She immediately says defensively.
"Oh, ok." I sigh.

Iwould be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. A part of me, no, all of me really wants James and Lily to cut the bullshit and get together. They have been playing this game with each other their whole lives. James flirts with Lily, Lily tells him to fuck off. Then Lily acts like she doesn't like it. Like come on. How long is this going to last.

It is now 7:45, the other girls are still sleeping. Lily and I decided to go on down to the common room and chill down there so we don't wake up the girls. When we got down there, we saw two heads facing the fire place.

"Peter? Remus? What are you guys doing down here so early?" Lily asks.

We could tell it was them tow by there hair and height.

They both turn their heads, "We could ask you two the same question." Remus says.
"We woke up early and so we came down here so we could chill and wait for the girls to wake up." I explain.
"Same....kinda." Is all Remus says.
"Cool cool." I say in a low whisper. Not loud enough for anyone to hear, not even Lily and she way next to me.

Lily and I went to the other side of the common room. We sat at a table and just started talking. Normally this time. After a few minutes go by, Peter and Remus came to us and just sat down. Without saying anything.

"Can we help you?" I say. Not unkindly, I was just curious to why they did what they did.
"Y/N, what did you and Sirius talk about last night?" Remus randomly asks.
"Excuse me?" I say, making sure I heard him correctly.
"What did you and Sirius talk about last night." He repeated, though this time he was a bit more sassy.
"N-nothing important. Why." I say. Trying to hide the fact that what we spoke about was very important.
"Sirius is acting really strange." Remus starts saying, "Like, so strange to where I said 'serious' last night and he did make his joke." Remus explains.

Oh no. I wonder if it was me that made him act like this. I think to myself. Nooo it couldn't be. I try to reassure.

"Woah. That is strange." Lily says.
"Yea. And this morning, he was up before Remus and I. He never wakes up this early." Peter chimes in.
"Why didn't he come down?" Lily asks.
"I don't know. He said that he was just going to come down when James comes down." Remus answers.
"We spoke to James about this but he said that he was 'probably tired.'" Peter says, mimicking James' voice.
"Exactly. But we know him well enough to know that he was just tired." Remus says.

Us four sat there in silence for a minute, trying to think about why Sirius is acting this way. Little do they know, I think I know why. I really hope it's not the reason, but if it is, then I'm a really bad person. Shit.
