Chapter 7

I basically gave him a tour of the place as a way for us to talk alone for a bit and catch up.

"So you're really not at all afraid of being in..you know danger as an Avenger?" He asked as a reply to me explaining to him how I'm hoping to be an Avenger like Tony.

"Nope, a year or two after I moved in with Tony he has been in all types of situations like that and I just want to be apart of it."

"Well I got to say you're very brave, but I'm proud of you," he said looking down at me with a small smile as we made a way back to the party.

"Thanks."

We walked along the party as I said hi to lots of familiar faces until I happened to bump into Tony.

"Tony!" I said loudly out of being nervous for how he'll react that I didn't mention I was invited someone. Well technically I didn't invite anyone myself, Stacey did. Well Tony did say I could invite anyone but usually that means Stacey since she's really the only friend I have so I don't really know how he'll react to me bringing a guy. I haven't been with a guy in years....god I do need to score tonight.

"Hey J, who's this?"

"Tony this is Cole, We knew each other back in high school before I came to live with you," I say with a big smile hoping he doesn't kill me for not bringing him back up.

"Cole? Oh yea didn't you two date or something?" Tony says making me widen my eyes at the fact that he brought up the fact that I've talked about him. I hope he doesn't think I'm a creep or anything.

"Uh yes we did Mr Stark, I happened to bump into Jane and she invited me to your party. I have to say you've done an amazing job for yourself and this place looks amazing," he said with a smile.

"Did she now?" He says looking at me as to say we're gonna talk later.
"Well thank you very much I hope you enjoy the party but I got to go do some business stuff so I'll see you guys later," Tony says patting Cole's back before walking away.

I took him by the hand as we made ourselves to the couches where the whole team was sitting and talking.

"Hello guys," I said sitting down with Cole next to Steve surrounding everyone.

"Hey who's this?" Asked Steve.

"Everyone this is Cole, Cole this is everyone."

"Hello," he said shaking everyone's hands. I can tell he's somewhat nervous especially shaking hands with Steve which I'm not surprised about at this point. Everyone seems to freak out over him.

"I didn't know you were inviting anyone J," Nat said from the couch across with a knowing smile.

"Well it was kinda last minute , but I've known Cole for quite some time actually."

"Really? I've never seen you around," Steve said to Cole.

"Well we actually knew each other back in high school but my family and I ended up moving to California since my dad got a better position in his job and he was actually offered the same position back here a while ago and since we have most of our family living here we thought it would be a good opportunity to come back and see them more often."

"Oh high school," Sam says with a smirk.

"Well! Anyone wants drinks I'm thirsty I'm going to get myself something," I said getting up as everyone stares at me.

"Jane," Steve said in a warning voice.

"I'm just getting a drink or two I'll be fine," I whisper to him.
"So no? No one?!" I shout louder as almost everyone shakes their heads.
