Nao Windrider:

Ever since that day, Nao wanted to be as far away from his former classmates as he possibly could. After he disguised himself as one of the remnants of despair, he listened to Junko Enoshima's plans for Hope's Peak and Soaring Heights.

It was sickening, listening to this batshit crazy woman talking about despair. The whole time he was near her, the second sister, Mukuro Iskuba, kept a close eye on him.

It was not even a day later that she caught him alone.

"You. You managed to escape Junko's brainwashing. How?" The Ultimate Soldier asked.

He kept his hands in his pockets as he turned towards the dark haired girl.

"I never cared much for Rai. She was too cheerful for me. Yeah, her death did hurt, and you're still heartless bastards for killing her like that, but it's not enough to make me fall into despair. I've already hit rock bottom from an early age. So I know what to do to avoid hitting it again." He explained, locking eyes with the girl.

Mukuro drew a knife from her person, holding it offensively.

"If you mean to stop Junko-"

He quickly cut her off.

"No. I don't give a shit about what the crazy bitch does. I'm just here to observe. I'm not planning on doing anything drastic." He said.

They remained glaring at each other for a long time after that.

A year or so after the Killings Games, Nao ended up in Towa City. He was sent there to check on 'the kids' or something.

When he got there, he had to keep a low profile. Towa City was one of the few remaining functional cities. The despair hadn't managed to get to them yet. But he knew that it wouldn't last long. Low and behold, not even a couple hours after he arrived, a loud explosion sounded, and the first screams split the air.

To his surprise, machines that looked like the bear Junko always carried with her began to attack the citizens. One of them risked getting too close to him, but it paused.

A brief scan of his face made the Monokuma turn around and take its chaos elsewhere.

'Hmph. I guess they're expecting me.'

But he had to do something first. He had heard the others talking about captives in Towa city. He was sure that Future Foundation knew about it and was on their way.

-

Nao entered the apartment complex. From the looks of it, the Monokuma's have already made their way inside.

He was sure that this is where many of the captives were being held.

"Halt."

He sighed as he heard the sounds of guns locking directly on him. Without regard for his life, he turned towards them, only to be faced with a very recognizable person.

"Byakuya Togami. To what do I owe the pleasure?" He said.

"Nao Windrider, Remnant of Despair. What reason do you have in coming this close to the hostages?" Byakuya asked in return.

"Nothing. I just think it would be better if they got out of those cells. I'm sure they'd like to go with you guys, right?" He said.

Byakuya raised an eyebrow at him. Then with a wave of his hand, he ordered those behind him to stand down.

"You aren't brainwashed. It's obvious. I would ask how you managed to avoid it, but I don't particularly care. Now tell me, will you be Future Foundation's enemy or ally?" The heir asked.

"Neither. I don't care what happens to you. I don't care what happens to them. I care what's happens to me though. So I think we can both agree to stay out of each other's way." Nao suggested.

"Do not put words in my mouth. I won't attempt to capture you. I'll let you go, but the next time I see you, I expect you to have made a choice." He said.

"Sure. Guess I'll just never see you again." Nao answered, continuing his walk down the hallway.

He heard the protests from the other Future Foundation members but they were quickly shut down by Byakuya who had them enter the elevator.

He continued down the hallway until he came up on a door that looked rather worn out. It was locked. So he decided to get creative. He slammed his elbow into the doorknob, breaking it right off. There was a couple screams from inside the room.

As he swung the door open, he easily dodged a decorative crystal that was flung at his head.

"Calm down. I'm here to free you. But that's all I'm gonna do. The rest is up to you if you survive or not." He said.

"What are you talking about?"

He finally took the time to scan the kids in the room.

The oldest looking one was standing in the front. He looked to be about 18. He was blonde.

Another shorter boy stood slightly behind him. This one looked to be about 12 or 13 years old. His expression was more relaxed but he was still obviously on edge. He was also blonde.

There was another one. Around 7 or 8. He clung to the eldests leg.

"I'm not here to explain things to you. Wanna know? Find out yourselves."

With that, Nao continued onto the next rooms. He would find the kids he was supposed to watch over at some point, but till then, why not cause a little havoc?
