"Good morning, everyone! It is now 7 a.m. and nighttime is officially over! Time to rise and shine! Get ready to greet another beee-yutiful day in your despairingly dreary killing game life!"
-Two Hours After The Morning Announcement-
Jiro's eyes shot open and he sat up quickly in the bed. The loud banging on the door had awoken him. He attempted to scurry out of the bed, but his leg got tangled in the sheets. He unsuccessfully tried to jump out of the bed.
"Waaugh!!"
He cried out as he hit the ground. Mumbling curses to himself, Jiro grabbed the sheets that had trapped him and began to unwrap them from his leg.
Once he was free, he got to his feet and scuttled to the door. He threw it open, still panting and out of breath from his morning debacle. He was confused when he didn't see anyone outside the door at first.
"Kinoshita-san, you're alright! You missed breakfast so I was worried that maybe you got hurt somehow. That's a relief."
Jiro looked at the ground and discovered Monokitty staring up at him.
"Oh uh...s-sorry...?" He mumbled, still confused.
"Oh it's quite alright! Just hurry up and come with me to the dining hall and I'll whip you up a quick breakfast!" Monokitty said.
Jiro glanced back towards the bed that he had just fallen out of. He honestly just wanted to close the door and return to the bed. But something was urging him not to.
"Is Mizuki...still asleep too?" He asked, since she did stay up as late as he did. Not that it was really that late.
"Huh? Wait, did she not get up either?!" Monokitty asked, distressed once she realized that she had forgotten about one of her precious students.
Jiro sighed and stepped out of his room, closing the door behind him.
"I-I'll get her..." he mumbled.
As he began walking, he became aware that Monokitty was following behind him. However, he didn't get a chance to ask why.
"Don't mind me! I just want to make sure that all of my students are accounted for. Or at least...what's left of them..."
Jiro decided that it was best to ignore the last part. It didn't take him long to reach Mizuki's door.
He raised his arm and was about to knock on the door but before he could, it opened revealing Haku standing there.
"Guuahh?!" Jiro fell backwards in surprise. Monokitty was just as startled as he was, due to his reaction.
"What? Am I really that surprising?" Haku asked with a blank expression.
Jiro scurried to his feet and brushed off the back of his pants.
"S-sorry...and no...I-I just get s-startled easily." He said, scratching the back of his head.
Haku tilted her head slightly.
"Are you here for Rai-san? She's been asleep since...I don't remember. I'm leaving now." Haku said, gracefully sliding past Jiro without so much as brushing him.
He shuddered. Peering into the room, he saw that Mizuki was asleep in the bed. Or rather, she was hanging out of the bed but still managed to remain asleep.
"Oh dear! She might have a headache from sleeping like that!"
Jiro nearly screamed. He had forgotten that Monokitty was still behind him. He sighed internally and silently cursed himself for being such a coward.
