Malcolm night : the detour to the hall of shadows

Chapter 12 : Spydergross

MALCOLM POV 

I sat on the log, the fire was almost out so I blew it again. I was having the creeps of my life. In the dark surrounded by trees, hearing screeches (occasionally). I was on the duty first. Why ?? Because I lost the bet from Kevin that I could eat more than him, needless to say I was over confident. 

Suddenly the bushes behind me rustled. Instinctively, I took out my weapon and threw at it. A squirrel ran past me, I sighed. That's when I saw a big figure looming over me. 

UNKNOWN POV 

"How are the kids ? Did they survive the attack ?" He asked. I looked at him, he had long hair and a charcoal black skin, the only reason I could make out his face was because of the red eyes without any pupil. I gulped and said "N-No my Lord. The K-Kids seemed to be s-stronger than we anticipated." 

"Ahh, and did you readied the wolves and Vamps ?" he asked 

I again gulped and said "No my Lord. K-kindness took over me." 

He chuckled evilly and said "The great Daku showing kindness ! Wonders never cease now do they Daku ?" 

"No, my L-lord." Suddenly he glared at me. His glare penetrated through my defenses. Even his glares sent shivers down my spine. "Daku. Do you know how I got my sword ??" 

I looked down and said "Y-yes my Lord." He walked close to me and lifted my chin with his long nails. "Tell the story now will you ?" I stuttered "I-I A-Am.." 

"THE STORY !" he shouted 

I started because I didn't have any choice "Y-you annexed the realm of Vampires and killed the king of the Vampires, King Anzhong by his own spine and since then it has been your sword." I finished and looked up at him. He didn't say anything but instead just pulled out his spine sword and whispered "I guess I will get a new one."

"NOOOOOO" I screamed. He lashed at me and I erupted in black flames. 

MALCOLM POV  

The figure loomed over me, I was unarmed. It cackled, I looked at it crossly and thrust my arms, immediately a lightning formed in my hands and I put myself into a fighting stance even though my legs wouldn't stop knocking each other. The sound of lightning should have waken them by now. It chuckled again and said "Showing off huh ?? No probs kid I am electric proof."  

I didn't put my lightning down, what if he was lying ?? I decided to draw time till others came. "Who sent you ??" I asked It again chuckled and said "It's our Lord, Lord S-" That's when it was tackled by another one like it and I gasped. There were two of them No three and what surprised me even more that these were Vampires. The Vampires I had met till now were small and puny if one was of their size. "Doofus !!" one of them screamed. 

they yelled their obscenities for a while until they gained their attention on me. One hissed at me. They were just gonna slam me when they started floating in the sky and much to my surprise, they were surprised by it too. I looked near the tent and Rose was standing their, her hands raised. Just as they rose in the sky, Jane appeared with her wings stretched and threw the metal feathers. But it did nothing .

They looked just annoyed by our attacks. I willed the air to bring back the weapon and I again got ready. A big snake appeared and coiled the three in a trap. I guess it was  Kevin. Some skeletons erupted and pointed their swords at them. I guess we had won, but that's when things went berserk. 

Rose couldn't handle it much longer and fell down. Now that they were able to move freely, they kicked the skeletons away and held the snake's neck and started kicking it. Soon it turned into Kevin again and with one final blow, he was thrown back to the tree. I made fire balls around twenty and shot forward but they all dodged it and disappeared. Suddenly they appeared behind me and kicked me. Ouch. I flew towards the trees. Yes that's how I like to put it. But I landed softly and now could see Jane and Lily ready for a fight. 

Jane turned into 12 and four departed for each of them. No matter with how much agility and power she struck them, they could always parry it away with their swords. Jane again tried to decapitate them when her sword skidded off to the dark. Lily interrupted in between by turning into metal strong and retaliated them. Jane too took out her feathers as daggers and started fighting. With every clang of swords and daggers I seemed to heal a little but not enough. Kevin was yet to stir up and Sam was also knocked out. 

Rose tried to stand up but a tail whipped at it and she was once again knocked out. I stood up when a tail came whipping me. I dodged it just in time or I would have been unconscious. I stood up power surged in my body. This time when the tail whipped at me again, I caught it I gripped it and then started oozing lava from my hands. One of them screamed in agony. Another tail came but I caught it and spewed lava at it and again one of them screamed. The third one was too afraid to launch an attack. 

The two's tails remnants were nothing but ashes. Jane looked at me horrified but I ignored and walked towards the three. Two of them were unconscious probably because of the pain and the third one shivering badly. Dunno what he had seen in me. 

"I asked in a deep tone which suspiciously wasn't mine voice. But nevertheless, I continued "Who sent you ?" 

"I-I W-will not T-Tell Y-you." He stuttered. I raised my eyes and punched, not at him but at the tree and it fell down. And he whispered "S-Spyridos. N-Now please L-Leave me !!" he begged. 

At that I laughed and somehow I once again could hear my normal voice and said laughing "What ??? Spydergross !!!" I looked at lily and said "L-Let him G-go." I managed to say between laughs. Lily nodded and willed the tree's branched, that had turned into metal strong.

I looked at the big Vampire once again and said "Tell your spydergross everything that happened here now go !!" I shooed him away laughing. I looked back at Lily and Jane and Lily said "What happened to you ?? You were all red-red suddenly."

I looked at them and then said "You didn't have enough sleep, now go sleep." And my eyes lolled back and everything went dark.
