It was now time for the scene where Usagi gets almost raped. Even though Shouko didn't want to be part of it, she was forced by her professionalism. It was only acting, after all.
Dori dressed as Niragi, which she will be referring to as Niragi from now on, dipped down and trailed his tongue along Usagi's leg.
It somehow affected her a bit but, of course, she didn't let it show on the outside. Shouko had to smile menacingly as she stared at Niragi whenever he trailed his tongue along Usagi's skin.
As his fan, she was absolutely jealous. The entire take, she would feel shivers all over her body. There was just something about Dori that made her feel so intense.
"That's a wrap!" Shinsuke Sato yelled, signaling the end of the shooting.
It was only eight in the evening, a little earlier than usual. Shouko glanced at Dori before looking away, her cheeks heating up at the thought of the scene earlier.
All his dramas affected her in such a way but seeing him actually do stuff like that in personal was way worse than she had imagined.
Shouko wanted to scold herself for being too sensitive. Dori wasn't even someone she could call a friend and yet she was acting like a lover.
"You free tonight?" Kento asked, suddenly appearing beside her.
Shouko was startled for a moment and nodded her head in reply. It was strange but she was actually getting used to talking to him.
"Good. I'll treat you to dinner tonight." Kento smiled at her, their cheeks a bit red.
It was then that Nijiro walked by to take his stuff by the table. He had gotten changed into his clothes and looked like he was a bit annoyed.
Shouko didn't want to approach him at that moment, seeing as if he might blow up any moment. But, she wanted to apologize for what she did yesterday so she was in a pinch.
"Murakami..." She suddenly blurted out, getting Nijiro's attention. Though he didn't look like he was pleased hearing his last name from her.
"What is it?" He asked, coldly.
Shouko felt a chill run down her spine and she hesitated if she should talk to him or just let him go. The way he looked at her at that moment, it was too much for her to handle so the only solution she could think of was to look down.
"M-May I speak with y-you for a m-moment?" She asked, cursing herself mentally for stuttering.
Nijiro frowned but inside he was grinning. His plan had worked and now she was trying to get a chance to talk to him. Of course, he didn't want to pass on that.
"Okay. But we'll talk through dinner." He replied, ignoring the look on Kento's face. "Just the two of us."
By now, a normal girl would have gotten the hint. But not Shouko. No, she was as oblivious as a newborn duck. She didn't know he was explicitly saying he wanted the two of them to have a formal conversation about what they were.
"I don't think that's fair, Murakami. I asked her to have dinner with me first." Kento interrupted.
It was about time he spoke up or else Shouko might have agreed in a heartbeat, leaving him to eat alone. She was like that, she didn't have a heart to say 'no' to others.
"We are to discuss something of importance. I'm sure you, of all people, would understand, right?" Nijiro slightly sneered, his eyes narrowing on Kento a little.
While Kento openly glared at him in return, Shouko looked like she was distressed. Between the two, she didn't know who to pick. The easy answer would be to have dinner with both of them but she was sure as hell that the two wouldn't get along and that they would end up having a horrible dinner together.
"K-Kento...." Shouko started. "Should we have dinner the next night?"
Kento wanted to tell her that he asked her first but he didn't. He was still considerate of her feelings and that he shouldn't be clingy, specially since he was basically a stranger to her.
To Nijiro's luck, Dori didn't appear before they could leave the set. He was too busy getting changed as the two of them left the place.
Nijiro had brought his car with him, just in case he'd actually succeeded in asking her out to dinner. To him, it was technically a date but he wasn't sure if it was the same for her.
During the car ride, they were both silent. It was the slightly awkward kind of silence yet the two didn't bother to break the ice even until they reached the place they would be having dinner at.
"Shouko, what is it you wanted to tell me?" Nijiro asked after both of them had ordered. He was sure that she wouldn't talk unless he urged her to do so.
"Um...." Shouko chuckled nervously, feeling a bit suffocated despite the restaurant being huge. "I wanted to a-apologize for last night. It was rude of me to leave you."
Nijiro felt his heart clench at the sight of her apologizing. Back then, he was sure he would somehow enjoy it but right now it was the total opposite. He just wanted to reach over and hug her until she felt okay.
"Shouko, I want to tell you something as well." Nijiro said in full confidence but the second after he said it, he wanted to take back what he said.
"Oh? What is it, Nijiro?" Shouko asked curiously. She wasn't all that bothered that he somewhat waved off her apology but still, she wanted to know if everything was okay between them now.
"I-I...." Nijiro stuttered, he couldn't get the words out of his mouth. "S-Shouko..."
Shouko patiently waited for him to continue but it looked like as if he didn't have the courage to do so. Still, she waited for him.
"Never-mind..." Nijiro muttered, feeling defeated.
In the end, he couldn't confess that he had somehow started to like her. The thought of her rejecting him right then and their made his heart break even worse. It was clear to him that she liked someone else and that someone else was none other than Dori Sakurada.
Nijiro slightly frowned at the thought of them being together. He turned to look at the girl in front of him and his frown wavered. The smile she had on her lips as she looked around the place made his heart feel warm.
The girl looked like sunshine yet she was the only one capable of bringing darkness to him. It was odd. He had never felt that way about someone before and he wasn't sure if he liked it or not.
"Nijiro, can we take a photo?" Shouko asked with a bright smile on her face. She was ecstatic to capture a souvenir for this night that she thought she wouldn't get to experience again.
"S-Sure." He replied, his voice slightly wavering.
That damn smile, it made his heartbeat faster. Both a good thing and a bad one. He was falling and he knew that. Yet, he didn't want to stop himself.
