Shouko snapped out of her thoughts and tried to push him off but she could only make a little gap between them.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that." Nijiro instantly apologized. "But I would do it again if you tell me to."
Shouko felt completely and utterly confused. She knew for a fact that she only had feelings for Sakurada Dori but what she didn't know was if it was just feelings a fan felt for their celebrity crush.
But this guy right in front of her, he made her feel all sorts of things that she shouldn't of. There was also the fact that she was supposedly dating Kento and accepting Nijiro's advances would be like cheating.
"I-I'm sorry I have to go..." She stutters as she tried to move past him but he blocked her way.
"No, tell me how you feel about me." Nijiro demanded. "...how you really feel..."
Everything was happening way too fast, Shouko couldn't even think straight. In all honesty, she felt like she was in a dream-no, a nightmare. Never in her life would she have thought someone would as her about her feelings this way; Nijiro, of all people!
"I don't know...I really don't know..." She whispered, tears starting to form in her eyes. "I'm so confused...."
"Will you let me help you clear your mind?" He says, his voice suddenly low as he stared into her eyes.
Shouko slowly nodded and that was enough for him. He immediately leaned down to kiss her for the second time.
Nijiro felt her tense up but he ignored it and poured his feelings into the kiss, hoping that it would be enough to clear her mind.
Shouko didn't expect that he would 'help' her by kissing her but it did make her mind go blank. Her head was telling her to push him off again but her body froze. There was a really small part of her that actually liked what was happening though she wouldn't admit that even to herself.
"I know this line is way cliché but..." He chuckled as he tried to get his breathing in check. "I can't stop thinking about you, Shouko."
Shouko didn't say anything and just stared at him. She also thought of him often but she didn't think it meant something; she was a fan and he was an celebrity after all. She only thought of it as normal behavior.
"I'm sorry for kissing you twice without your permission. It won't happen again, I promise." Nijiro added, not liking how she was so quiet. He wanted to blame himself but he couldn't since he wanted it to happen.
Shouko's silence hurt him. He took her in his arms and hugged her tightly. The alcohol was taking its toll on him, getting bolder by the minute.
"Please, say something." He muttered, trying to ignore the pain in his chest. "....anything, Shouko."
"I don't know what you want to hear from me." Shouko finally spoke. "Everything is happening way too fast, Nijiro."
The way she said her name didn't sound alright and Nijiro took that to heart. He felt like he just got rejected by a long time crush or something.
"I know I'm going way too fast, I apologize." He said. "But I'm willing to wait until everything finally clears up."
"Then what?" She blurts out. "What do you expect to happen once everything is all clear?"
"I-I would ask you out, of course." Nijiro nervously replied. Her tone suddenly turned cold that he could almost feel it.
"But what will the people say about me then? That I'm just jumping from one guy to another? It's not as easy as you think, Nijiro." Shouko explained. She, of course, didn't want to taint her name.
Nijiro looked down and bit his lip. As of now, he couldn't come up with anything to argue with her statement. But surely, he would think of something soon.
Shouko slowly backed away from him so she could get out of his grip. From the looks of it, he was devastated as his eyes were fixated on the floor.
"I really hope we could still stay as friends, Nijiro." She told him before getting out of the restroom, only to find Sakurada Dori leaning against the wall outside.
Dori turned to her and got off the wall. He had a serious look on his face that told her he had heard every single word they said inside. His eyes flickered down to her lips and noticed they were a bit swollen.
Then, Nijiro decided to get out. Dori's eyes flickered to Nijiro's lips and noticed it was in the same state as Shouko's.
"I can't believe this." Dori scoffed before turning around and walking away.
Shouko sighed, shook her head and turned to Nijiro before taking a step away from him. "We should just stay away from each other now."
Before Shouko could walk away, Nijiro grabbed her forearm. "Sakurada....he's the person you...like?"
"Yes." Shouko said without hesitation and followed the path Dori went to.
After trying to find him for at least five minutes, she finally got to the small garden at the back. Dori was looking around the flowers to clear his head. He didn't want to think of what he heard and saw earlier but it bothered him so much.
"I just don't get it. You're dating Yamazaki yet you kissed Murakami. " He laughed humorlessly before turning to her. "Aren't I the one you like?"
The question caught Shouko off-guard. She didn't think that would be the first thing he says to her when she walked out.
"I'd like to know if you're going around kissing men you barely even know." Dori added, not at all amused by this.
"I'm not going around kissing men." Shouko replied in an instant, feeling a bit insulted.
"I saw you with my own two eyes when you stepped out of that restroom, lips red and a bit swollen. Then Nijiro came out looking the same." Dori said, his eyes boring into hers. "Tell me, am I right to assume something happened in there between you two?"
"I-I....I pushed him away..." Shouko replied, her voice barely above a whisper. It was just so embarrassing and strange to actually be talking about it.
"That could be true..." Dori shrugged but still felt unconvinced. "Though you two took awfully quite a long time in there..."
Shouko felt her heart break a little at the thought of him suggesting something else might have happened in the restroom.
"I'm not some cheap girl. I wouldn't let a guy, whom I don't know, touch me in a public restroom of all places!" Shouko said, feeling her chest tighten a little more.
Dori felt the ends of his lips move upward as he sauntered over to where she was standing and leaned down, his lips stopping just beside her ear.
"I really hope you're not." He whispered. "I should be the only one who can touch you."
Shouko immediately stepped back in shock. He was smirking, fully aware of what effect he had on her.
Dori took a step closer and brushed back a strand of hair, tucking it behind her ear. Shouko's whole body froze, her ears disbelieving what they just heard.
Once again, he leaned close to her ear. "Let's keep this a secret for now, shall we?"
