Hello
(Ren POV)
When I come back home for the weekend, my parents aren't home yet. Must be work. I think as I flop down on the couch. I try to guess the Netflix password mom changed but just get locked out again.
I groan as I lie down. Don't wanna do homework. Suddenly, someone kicks the door open.
"Kaminari-saaaaan" A girl exclaims. She looks around the room for a bit.
"Hey who are-" She suddenly disappears and pops up behind me.
"So you're Ren right?" She says. Grabbing one of my ear jacks making me yelp in surprise.
"Cute." She comments. Messing up my hair.
"Who the hell are you?" I finally get out.
"I'm part of the big three, does the name Kioyue Hagi ring any bells?" She asks.
"Y-yeah, I remember you from the sports festival!" I realize. I watched her sweep aside the competition until she got into a fight against the other two of the big three. "So... Why are you here... and how did you even know my a-"
"I work at the Black Lightning agency for my hero work-study, I'm your mom's sidekick for now," She explains, plopping herself on the couch next to me. She snatches the remote from my hand and enters the password finally letting me in again.
"Here," She says simply. Placing the remote back into my hand. What?
It's not long before mom and dad finally get home. "Kioyue? What are you doing here?" Mom asks.
"I told your husband I would come," Kioyue tells mom
"I never said yes," Dad replied.
"You didn't say no either, and even if you did, I'd come here anyway." She claims. By now I've decided to not get involved with Kioyue anymore, I have no idea what relationship she has with my parents, but they seem to know her.
"Go back home Kioyue!" Mom orders for the fourth time. Kioyue leans back showing no signs of moving at all. A smug look on her face. Mom sighs, giving up on her, and turns to me.
"Ren, we need to talk," She says. Dad opens his mouth to speak but mom stops him. "Just me and Ren," She orders. Dad nods silently and sits next to Kioyue as I follow mom into my room.
"If this is about the Netflix then Kioyue's the one who unlocked it," I claim quickly. Mom ignores me, a serious look on her face.
"Ren, when you see your father, what comes to your mind first?" She asks.
"Well... um," The question takes me by surprise. "Well... a lot of things come to mind..." I begin,
"What do you think of him?" Mom asks,
"Slightly invasive question..."
"I'm your mom, I'm allowed to ask you that," She pushes, obviously wanting an answer.
"I..." I rack my brain to find an answer, "I don't know," I get out, "I don't know what I think of him, he's my dad right? Am I supposed to have some sort of impression on him?" I ask.
"Ok then, here's a more specific question... what do you think about his job... his old one," Mom asks. I'm silent.
"I don't like it," I answer, "Because of it, he left us and caused a lot of heartbreak, even when he came back, it still hurt thinking that my father was a villain," I say. Mom sighs,
"One more question, then I have some bad news for you," Mom warned, "Do you wanna be like your father?" She asks.
"No!" I exclaim, "I don't wanna be like him! Not because I don't like him or anything but because I wanna be my own people, I don't want to leave the people I love alone! I wanna stay and fight with them!"
Mom suddenly starts crying a little. Was it something I said?
"Mom?" I ask, "Are you... ok?" She shakes her head.
"I'm fine but..." She hugs me tight. "I'm sorry Ren, I'm so sorry." Confused, I push her away,
"W-what happened?" I ask, bewildered.
"They... want to send you into a villain base... as a spy," She whispers.
What?
"No!" I half-yell, "I'm NOT my father! I'm not a spy!" I exclaim once more.
"Your father and I tried to convince them, but the order has been given... I'm so sorry I couldn't do anything Ren," Mom whispers. I'm silent for a while, I wanna burst out whining and crying like a two-year-old who didn't get his popsicle.
I'm not my father. I burst out of the room. Dad is waiting outside. "Ren I-"
"You're sorry?" I finish for him, walking off, I'm about to leave the house when Kioyue suddenly grabs my arm.
"Hey," She says, suddenly serious, "You shouldn't just run off like that,"
"Mind your own business," I growl, upset that people think that I'm like my father.
"Jeez," Kioyue sighs, "You need to cool down," She suddenly grabs me by the collar of my shirt and in a flash, were in our backyard. "You angry?" She asks, "Fine then, come at me!" She smirks. spreading her arms wide pretending to be a target. I throw a reckless punch at her but in another snap, she's behind me.
"Let's play a fun little game," She teases, "Guess what my quirk can do!" I jab my ear jacks at her but she disappears again.
"You can teleport!" I claim,
"Eh, not really..." Kioyue tilts her chin up a little, "Teleportation is too general... guess more," She smiles as I come at her again. This time she dodges normally and trips me. She laughs as I lose my balance.
"You're a great fighter Ren," She comments, "But the moment your opponent moves faster than you, you can't do a thing." She chuckles.
"Screw you..." I grumble, settling down a little.
"Feeling better?" She asks cheekily. She sits herself down next to me. "Hey Ren," SHe says, serious again, "Why do you hate your dad so much, you seem to be quite the mommy's boy seeing how you took all your anger to your dad instead of your mom." She comments.
"Hey!" I turn to her, "Just because I have slight Daddy Issues doesn't mean I can't love my mom!"
She laughs at this, getting back up again. "alright," She says, "Since your going on a mission, I'm gonna train you!" She decides. "Let me re-introduce myself!"
"My name is Kioyue Hagi! I'm one of the Big 3!" She announces, "Oh, and fun fact! I used to be an adopted Kaminari!"
Oh my god I'm finally finished,
Moving on to training arc now
Thanks!
