Going right into it

"Your mission is to break Subject #004 out of prison, get in, get out, that's it. Easy right?" Takamatsu briefs us on the mission.

"Who's Subject #004?" I whisper to Tobi whose beside me.

"Her name is Saki, I think she fought one of your old classmates," Tobi explains. I nod in understanding.

"Subject #003, how's your new costume?" Takamatsu suddenly asks. It takes a moment for me to realize that he's talking to me.

"It's alright, it looks cool," I answer. He nods.

"We'll also have to give you a new villain name too... I like the thunder god theme so how about... Raiden instead of Raijin." He suggests. I nod in acceptance. (A/N It's pronounced
R-A-den, not R-I-den)

Looks like I'm Raiden now.

(Time skip)

"Raiden, plug yourself in!" Ichika ordered, pointing to a computer bored, we had infiltrated the prison in the dead of the night. All seemed to be going well so far. I find a plug which matches my earjacks and plug myself in. Following the plan I start firing electricity into the machine making it go up in sparks. I immediately unplug my earjacks, wincing in pain.

"You good?" Tobi asks, staring at my burnt earjacks which are smoking and hurt quite a bit.

"Yeah... I think..." I whisper, blowing at my earjacks to try an cool them down. We hurry to the cells where Saki is being held.

"This way," Ichika leads, guiding us with her katana in hand. Suddenly, someone bang on the bars.

"Ichika! Tobi! Over here!" I loud whisper sounds from one of the cells.

I look over Tobi's broad shoulders to see a silver haired girl that must be Saki. Ichika nods to Tobi who activates his quirk, Beast.

He raises his hand and in gets enveloped by some bright orange energy forming a giant claw that's almost as big as me. In one swipe he tears the iron bars to shreds.

Saki hops out gleefully. Acrazy-looking smile on her face.

"Remind me not to get on your bad-side," I whisper to Tobi as we make our way out.

He chuckles. "Don't worry little man, your one of us now." I chuckle with him, surprisingly calmed by his brotherly words. I have to remember. These kids are my enemies. Not my friends.

"Raiden! Quit daydreaming!" Ichika demands. I snap out of my thoughts and follow her out of the prison.

"Hey! Who's there!" A voice suddenly cuts through the dark. I'm about to activate some lightning but Subject #00... Whatever she's called. Acts before I do, but I'm able to come in a second after.

She's pinned him to the ground and covered his mouth to keep him from yelling. But the important thing is that she's turned her hand into a black claw that's about to chop him into pieces.

"Wait!" I stop her. Instantly realizing my mistake. Crap crap crap crap! I might blow my cover... But I gotta keep this guy alive, it's what I hero does!

The black claw girl looks at me curiously.

"We don't need to make scene!" I try to convince her. "He doesn't need to die!"

"But he is a threat," Subject #000 replies. Her ice cold voice sends chills down my spine. "All threats need to be erased." Her voice has no emotion, no kindness, no hate, no mercy. "There is no reason for him to live anymore." She claims.

"I agree with Ren," Tobi suddenly says. "There gonna realize Saki is gone in the morning anyway, one more person alive doesn't make any difference, just knock him out." He suggests.

Subject #000 looks back down at the quivering guard. Swiftly knocking him out.

(Timeskip)

Takamatstu turned out to care about us more than I thought. When we got out, a few bulletproof security vans were waiting for us outside.

"Everyone get in a van!" Tobi ordered. Tobi and Ichika were in one van, Saki got her own which left me and Subject #000 in another.

The drivers were dead silent and there was one of those seperaters that separated the drivers and the passengers like in a police van. Which just left me and Subject #000 (I'm seriously tired of typing over and over again...)

It was awkwardly quiet for a while.

"Hey... um... Thanks for not killing that guy..." I said. Hoping to at least get to know her name.

Instead of saying something like 'your welcome' or 'of course' she just nodded.

"So... what's your name?" I decided to ask her directly.

"Subject #000"

"No, I mean your real name"

"Yes, Subject #000, that's the name Mr. Takamatstu gave me, so it is my name."

"Oh..." I realized. She must've been raised by the guy from a really young age. I think, remembering how Tobi and Ichika told me how Takamatsu picked up each of them from orphanages or off the streets. Typical villain backstory.

"Do you have a codename?" I ask again.

"No."

"Ok then," I sigh, tired of calling her by a stupid number. "Do you mind if I give you one?"

"It doesn't matter." She replies. Still showing no emotion at all. I think for a little while before coming up with an idea.

"Ok then! From now on, I'm gonna call you..."

"Zero!"

I announce. She nods apathetically. Then the van is quiet again.

"Subject #003, I remember running into you before." To my surprise. Zero starts the conversation this time, calling me like how Takamatstu does.

"Y-you don't have to call me that. I'd rather be called Ren," I reply, happy that she started the conversation this time.

"Ren, I remember running into you before," She repeats. "Seven days, three hours, and twelve minutes ago, I bumped into you at the train station nearby UA high school." She states.

"Really?" I perk up. Zero nods.

"You were with friends..." She recalls. "I was..." She thinks for a bit, as if trying to remember what the name of something was called, "I think the name of the emotion is... 'surprise'?" She recalls again.

"Yeah, that would make sense," I add. "What made start talking to me?" I ask her, hoping I'll get a reply.

"Mr. Takamatstu told me to talk to more people." She answers.

Does that mean Takamatstu wants Zero to have emotions? If so why? I wonder. It's clear that Zero has little to none emotion. Only showing a bit of surprise and curiosity so far. And even then her voice is completely monotone, and her eyes are souless and dead.

There's a lot of things Takamatstu is hiding. And I'm going to find them and kick his villainy ass!

That's it for this chapter, I hope you've enjoyed the spying and mystery and I'm glad that I can start typing Zero instead of Subject #000

Thanks!
