The Demon Herself

(Ren POV)

"I want you to take him out," Takamatsu ordered, referring to an old acquaintance of his. "He's too dangerous to be left alone now, ambush him,"

And now, here were are, watching him eat his meal in a restaurant, people all over the place as we watch him through the windows. "Remember the plan, we do this quietly, got it?" Ichika reminds us. We nod and follow her into the kitchen.

"Ah! You must be the new waiters! This way please!" A waiter says, he hands us the waiter's uniforms, a formal suit or dress.

This seems more like a job for just one person, wouldn't it be easy to get in the way in a mission like this? I thought. I don't even really have a job in this, I'm really just here. I realize. Wait... actually... Ichika is the only one here that has a real role... I think about Takamatsu for a second. Takamatsu isn't the type of person to do more than necessary, he's a very precise person who does everything for a reason, there's no way he would've sent us here without a reason. So why is Ichika the only one that has an actual role while everyone else is just here?

A chill runs down my spine as I watch Ichika prepare the target poisoned tea. It bothers me that I'm just letting a man die like this. But I have to keep my cover.

Ichika walks calmly over to the target. Her posture is perfect and if she's nervous she doesn't show it.

Suddenly.

A flash of black dashes over to the target, and before anyone can react, Zero has stabbed the target.

Before now, I've never really seen Zero's quirk, but now I'm seeing it in all it's murderous glory.

Her hand has turned into a black spike-like blade that has gone right through the target's chest. Two black demon wings have sprouted from her back and her emotionless face has blood splashed on it.

I hear a women scream and suddenly, everything is in chaos. Security guards have already drawn their guns the heroes have already been called.

"Shit!" I hear Tobi curse. He activates his quirk, "Beast" his hand is enveloped by a giant orange claw, and his legs are enveloped by the same energy forming another giant lion-like foot.

Without wasting a second he dashes over to one of the guards with a gun. He bashes the guard away before moving to the next who is about to fire. Ichika draws her sword and deflects a few bullets, protecting Zero. 

Saki throws a knife hitting the arm of another armed guard. The heroes are on the way! We gotta get out of here! I run up, shocking a guard on the way.

"Over here!" Tobi calls out to us, he's clawed open a hole in the wall for us to escape. I grab Zero and run out of the restaurant with her along with the others.

We run to the car Takamatstu has set up for us. We enter and it drives off immediately. Everyone is silent until we get back to Takamatstu's base

What was that! Was that the real plan? Did the others know? Why wasn't I told?

I'm about to ask when Ichika grabs Zero.

"What was that!?" She asks, furious. Zero is silent. "I thought we agreed to do this quietly right!?" She continues, "I never expected you of all people to go against the plan, what got into you!"

So it wasn't planned. But why did Zero go against the plan? It's not like her. I thought. Ichika continues to scold Zero and she stays silent, blood still splashed on her face.

"Zero!!" Ichika yells, calling Zero by the name I gave her. Zero seems ever so slightly shaken by that.

"He told me to..." Zero mutters. Her face as emotionless as ever, she shows no sign of doubt or regret.

"Who? Who told you to?" Tobi jumps in.

"Mr. Takamatsu," Zero answers, "He said..." She hesitates for a moment. "He said that I needed to show the power of my quirk,"

"Did he say why?" Saki asks.

"He said if I didn't," Zero meets our eyes, "You'd think I'm weak and kill me." Zero eyes all of us cautiously, "It makes sense, who wouldn't kill someone who's weak, if you thought I was weak and was going to get in the way, you'd obviously kill me. So Mr. Takamatstu told me to do what I did, so you won't kill me." She explained. 

"What..." Ichika looks at Zero, stunned. Suddenly, Ichika balls her hands up into fists and grabs Zero, who retaliates and turns her arms into those black knives again.

Shit! They're gonna kill each other! I'm about to try and shock both of them when Zero pauses, her blade-arm right above Ichika's head. As if someone has hit the pause button on her because Ichika wasn't grabbing Zero violently. It was a hug

"What... are you doing..." Zero asks.

"It's a hug, Zero," Ichika answers, "A hug,"

Suddenly, Saki joins in. For once, she's not all cheery. Tobi joins in too, his arms enclosing the girls in a warm brotherly hug.

"I don't know what Takamatsu told you, but... You're part of our family Zero," Ichika tells her.

I stand to the side respectfully and watch them quietly. I look at Zero. Suddenly, something flashes in those dead red eyes of hers. Sadness.

"This must all sound like nonsense to you, you don't have any emotions, so you wouldn't understand, but... We would never hurt you." Tobi says.

Zero shakes herself free from the hug. "I don't need to understand, I only need to complete the mission, and eliminate the targets," she says. Suddenly, her face is emotionless again.

"Fine then!" I suddenly say, "Then I'll give myself my own mission," I announce, "One day, I'll make you smile! A genuine smile! I'll give you emotions so you understand!" I claim. Zero turns away, ignoring me, not caring. 

Yeah! I assure myself. I'm gonna make you smile!

(Timeskip)

I'm approaching Zero every day now. I tell her my best jokes, goof off, sometimes Saki joins in. But she decides to ignore me, and she doesn't even understand the jokes.

"One chemist says "I'll have an H2O, the second one says "I'll have an H20 too" the second chemist dies!" I joke. (I don't need to explain this... right?)

"Why would you order an H2O2" Zero asks, "Was the second chemist suicidal?"

"No... that's... never mind..." I sigh. 

This is tough

Hey guys, sorry I kinda went against what I said in the Midorya and Suguha chapter, to me, it's really hard to write about some of the characters which leads me to be more hesitant to write about them so I decided that I'm going to stick with the plot which I honestly enjoy writing a lot!

I hope you guys understand!
