(Ren's POV)

It took everything I had to avoid Tobi's every attack, he was finally rising his quirk in training, I was glad that he thought that I was strong enough for him to use his quirk against but now I'm just terrified.

I've been here for over a week now, and I still haven't got any contact with the hero agency... I worry as Tobi finally stops attacking.

"That's enough for today," He says, throwing me a towel, "go get some rest, then you can go hit on Zero if you want," He jokes.

"You already know I'm not- Nevermind..." I trail off, deciding it's pointless to argue back.

(Timeskip)

I throw myself on the bed, exhausted. But I am getting stronger, a lot stronger. I thought, Who knew to spy on villains would actually make me stronger, I still want to be a hero though... I thought.

Suddenly, Saki barges into my room.

"FIREWORKS!!" She yells.

"Wha-What!! How'd you get in here I locked the door!" I almost bang my head into the wall in surprise.

"I just used a lock-pick silly!" Saki smiles, "Oh! I almost forgot! I know a way to make Zero smile!" She says, "Fireworks! They're having a firework show tonight!! We can bring Zero!" Saki suggests loudly.

"That's a great idea!" I agree,

"C'mon!" She says, grabbing my arm, "Let's go get Zero! She cheers.

Saki races over to Zero's room. She shakes the handle a bit. "It's locked," I say.

"Yeah, thanks Mr. Obvious, luckily, I have a solution," Saki grins as she pulls out a lock pick, before I can say anything, Saki kicks the door open.

"ZEROOO!!" Saki greets. The next thing I know, Saki is dragging Zero and I to the firework show.

"I fail to see how this is necessary," Zero says, emotionless as ever.

"Of course it's necessary! It'll help you smile and have emotions!" Saki claims,

"I don't see how having emotions is necessary, if anything, it'll get in the way when I do my job," Zero argued.

Saki ignored her and just continued to drag us.

"You two stay here!" She says, plopping us down at a public balcony where we can see the fireworks. "I'm going to get snacks!" and before we know it. She runs off, leaving just me and Zero in a large crowd.

We're silent for a while, Zero not being one to talk and me not knowing what to say.

Suddenly, there's a loud bang as a firework shoots into the sky. Having never seen fireworks before, Zero tenses up but I grab her arm.

"Is that... a firework?" Zero whispers. I nod. "I don't understand," Zero mutters, "Why would people come all the way here just to see that one thing explode?"

"This firework show is considered the best in Japan," I explain, "Oh, and there's not just one," As if on cue, more fireworks start rocketing into the sky displaying their beautiful patterns and light.

Zero stares wide-eyed as people around cheer happily.

"It's beautiful isn't it!" I smile. Zero doesn't reply and just stares in awe. I find myself staring at her, looking for at least the slightest bit of emotion. We end up shoulder to shoulder in the excited crowd. Zero looks... nice... in this light. I thought as I slowly move my hand over hers.

I stopped noticing the pushing crowd, I stopped noticing the fireworks. I just felt my hand on top of Zero's. Holding it lightly, as the fireworks continue to fly.
