The scout ship weaved between buildings, crashing into a few and causing them to collapse.

"Rhodey, focus fire on that thing's engines," Tony said, flying up to the ship's rear and firing a few beams at it. Rhodey came up behind him and unloaded his arsenal into the ship's engines. He successfully destroyed the back, causing the ship to crash in the middle of the city square. Two Kryptonian soldiers emerged from inside, along with Tor-An and, lastly, Zod, no longer using a helmet like the rest of them.

Tony landed in front of them. Steve ran up next to him, as did Wanda. Steve engaged Tor, Tony and Wanda each took a soldier. Zod, seeing this chaos, took his chance to escape and leapt back to his craft, still being bombarded with fire from Rhodey, Sam, Vision, and the quinjet.

Wanda used her powers to grab a chunk of rubble from the scout ship, throwing it at the two Kryptonian soldiers, saving Tony from being shot by a laser blast. Steve continued to block Tor's punches with his shield before finally throwing it at his helmet and breaking it, allowing for Tony to shoot him in the face. He was stunned for a moment, but quickly regained his balance and faced the three Avengers. He rushed at them, but was somehow forced back by a speeding red and blue blur that shot his face with a red beam of energy.

(Y/N) had arrived, and he was mad.

"(Y/N)! Where have you been?" Steve said.

"I was a little preoccupied with this guy," He said, pointing at Tor-An's lifeless body.

"I'm sorry, didn't you just kill him in less than ten seconds?" Tony asked.

"I didn't have you guys."

Wanda, who was a little ways away, rushed over and kissed (Y/N).

"I was so worried about you," She said.

"You don't need to be. No matter what, I'll always come back to you."

They turned around as the energy from the ship surged once again.

"It can only be destroyed from the inside," He told the others. "That's how I dispatched the world engine in the Indian Ocean."

"Can you do it again?" Steve asked.

"I'll try."

Without a second thought, (Y/N) shot off towards the ship.

-----

(Y/N) did what he had done before and entered the beam of energy that the ship was blasting out. He could feel his skin burning, and with all his effort, he couldn't make any progress to the inside of the ship. Until he felt something, some unknown force, trying to push him forward. 'It's Wanda,' he realized. He pushed harder, his love for her increasing his strength and power. Slowly but surely, he flew to the inside of the ship and shot his heat ray in all directions, destroying the ship from inside. It was over. The terraforming had stopped.

(Y/N) dropped down to the ground as the ship exploded. Chunks of it fell from the sky around him as he approached the last threat to the planet: Zod.

Zod held up a handful of dirt and held it so (Y/N) could see. "Look at this. We could have built a new Krypton in this squalor, but you chose the humans over us. I exist only to protect Krypton. That is the sole purpose for which I was born. And every action I take, no matter how violent or how cruel, is for the greater good of my people."

Zod rammed into (Y/N) full force, knocking him back into a building, creating an indentation in its structure.

"And now... I have no people. My soul, that is what you have taken from me!"

(Y/N) slowly got up to face Zod.

"I'm going to make them suffer, Kal. These humans you've adopted, I will take them all from you one by one."

"You are a monster, Zod. I'm going to stop you."

(Y/N) flew full force into Zod, throwing the two of them into multiple buildings, causing them to collapse. (Y/N) punched Zod in the face, throwing him back into a massive skyscraper. (Y/N) lost sight of him, until Zod came from behind and grabbed (Y/N), shoving him into the same building. Zod suddenly became enraged, and fired a heat ray at (Y/N), something that had taken (Y/N) years to master. The ray was unstable, and uncontrollable. Zod's head rocked around as it fired, nearly hitting (Y/N). The ray stopped shooting and Zod stumbled, allowing (Y/N) to grab him and push him through the floors of the building until they came up out of it onto a section that was still under construction. Zod grabbed one of the large metalrods and swung it at (Y/N), who used his heat ray to melt it before Zod could strike. Zod hit him from the other side with what was left, causing (Y/N) to be knocked back.

"I trained for years, Kal. My whole life I was destined to be a warrior. Where did you train? In the middle of nowhere?"

Once he had said this, Zod broke out of his armor, revealing a form-fitting suit similar to (Y/N)'s own. It was entirely black, with no cape. He tackled (Y/N), sending the two flying through the roof of the city's train station.  Zod stood and punched (Y/N), keeping him down. Zod then turned to look at the people cowering in fear, backed up into a corner.

"If you love these people so much, Kal, you can mourn for them."

He fired his heat ray at the civilians as (Y/N) grabbed him from behind, putting him into a choke hold and slowing Zod's head movement, allowing for the people to get away.

"There's only one way this ends, Kal. Either you die, or I do."

"My name is (Y/N)!"

With that, (Y/N) kicked Zod's legs out from under him, causing both to fall on their backs. Zod rolled out of the way as (Y/N) shot a heat ray at him, then Zod grabbed (Y/N)'s neck and started to choke him.

"Say goodnight, son of El."

(Y/N)'s vision started to fade.

'No... not like this...'
