Chapter Fifty: Portals

(Y/N) couldn't take much more.

Darkseid had been punching him in the face for a few minutes now, his staff still catching (Y/N)'s black cape.

He could feel blood pouring down the side of his face as Darkseid continued to attack. But when (Y/N) anticipated the next blow, it didn't come. He turned his head to see Darkseid being held in the air by red energy, and as (Y/N) stood and pulled the staff out of the ground, throwing it on the ground, and orange portal opened and Darkseid was shoved through it.

The picture of himself and Wanda flew out of his suit, flying past a man with black hair and a beard, who was wearing a red cape. The wizard, Doctor Strange.

And then there was the person he had longed to see for five years, a person he had gone to the dark side for, the only person for him, his one true love.

"Wanda?"

She smiled from ear to ear and ran into his arms.

"I promise you," he said to her, "I will never let you go, ever again. And if something comes between us I swear to god, I will tear it down, with all the power in me."

"I love you, (Y/N) (L/N). Forever and always."

"I love you too, Wanda Maximoff. More than you could ever know."

He kissed her for the first time in forever. He had never been happier to see her, nor to be with her, than right now, on the field of battle.

They turned to face the oncoming armies of evil as orange portals appeared everywhere, and armies from Wakanda, Asgard, and a massive group of wizards came through, along with the Avengers who had been dusted.

T'Challa led the Wakandan forces.

Bucky and Groot emerged behind him.

The rest of the Guardians formed up behind Doctor Strange.

Spider-Man swung out of the portal.

Diana walked to the front of the crowd, her sword and shield drawn.

Arthur leapt out of the portal, trident in hand. "Miss me, assholes?"

And Wanda was here, by (Y/N)'s side, and in that moment all was well for them.

From inside the ruined compound came a massive Scott, Rhodey, with Rocket on the shoulders of his armor, Hulk, Bruce Wayne, and Barry.

Everyone was here. The team was together again.

Steve stood at the front of the crowd, and called Mjolnir to his hand. "Avengers..."

"Assemble."

A fierce battle cry emerged from the armies of good as the Avengers lead the charge, Steve leading them to what would be their last stand.

Thanos and his army charged, his gaze remaining unyielding in the face of the battle.

When the two armies collided, chaos ensued. (Y/N) took out groups of Chitauri soldiers with his heat vision, Bruce had called in a four-legged mech he called the Nightcrawler, and in the middle of it all both Wanda and (Y/N) became untouchable. Nobody would stop them from being together.

As Thanos realized he was losing the battle, he ordered one of his commanders to activate the cannons on his ship, believing he could wipe out both armies in a single stroke.

The plan was fooled when the cannons turned to the sky.

"What are they shooting at, (Y/N)?" Wanda asked.
