When she walked past the little cottage-- --the one rumored to be the home of a mage,
She heard an alluring tune. Her body moved swiftly under the light of the moon
The moonbeam seemed to follow her Like a spotlight moving over a performer
She seemed to be under some spell. She drifted inside like the wind moving a sail.
she seemed to have lost control of her body All she heard was a lovely melody but saw nobody.
The notes suspended in the air... She felt relaxed and without a care.
When she closed her eyes Her body seemed to levitate and rise
A certain chord seemed to hit her soul She could feel warm tears roll
As the song tuned back to a steady flow She found her feet touching soft grass, real slow.
Soft sunshine kissed her face She opened her eyes at a slow pace
She gasped in wonder at the sight Such delicate landscape!? It must be a dream, alright!
Soft green grass under her feet A vast azure sky spreading as far as eyes could greet
A misty morning welcoming her A pair of goldeneyes inviting her
To the forest which rested on the fog The hidden roots and seemingly floating log.
The mist was like a translucent armor. The faint symphony made her body tremor.
Curious and hypnotized she walked into the wood. There she met the golden eyes in a hood.
"Where am I," asked the girl in a dreamy state. "Inside my dream, " replied the hooded figure, "my reality, my fate."
The distant music enhanced And girl's heart leaped and danced
The golden eyed figure fell to the ground "My time has come, I'll fade into the sound"
With glistening eyes she threw back the hood to have one clear look at the golden eyes in the hood.
Eyes as sheen as metal Rosegold hair and lips like petal.
"You're the mage of the cottage!" she said in a broken shout "I am" said the mage now fading out.
As the mage evanesced, the music amplified That's when she knew he has died.
The music was his curse His story mingled into the verse
The music transformed into the songs of the bird the girl was the only one who had heard-
the original notes and the beginning of the song sung so long ago.

A/N I had so many vivid images while I was working on this piece. These are a few pictures which came close to the images in my head. I had written most part of the poem back in July 2020 when I was doing the 30 days writing challenge. I finally got around to complete today! The prompt was 'Music' and I was/am going through major Cottagecore phase haha while writing this.
