Poem #31 Tapestry

33 4 2

I saw the inscription in the sky
They said my end is Nigh

I felt alone, frightened, and cold
But it was just the wind caressing me in its hold.

I shivered in the universe's embrace
Wishing to vanish without a trace

Hoping the ocean would just swallow my footprints on the land.
But my impressions belonged to the desert's sand.

I am alone in my labyrinth.
My only companion, my Hyacinth
I must not let it die
For it blooms to comfort me.

But my life belongs to the fireflies.
Who know everything, the truths, and the lies.

Someone will keep the lightning bugs in a jar
After a while, they will release them to be with the stars
But they will keep the empty jar full of memories.
To tell their children, the stories.
Stories, which the fireflies whispered to them
I have to believe that they will learn my name.

I wish to leave this place
With a dramatic exit, some poise, and grace.
But not cause any pain
to the ones I loved in vain.

They will loathe me for leaving.
Without explanations, they're just left grieving.

To leave without bidding farewell should be a sin
But it would be a sin I would commit,
For I need to be free.

<...I wish to escape this maze... continue>

[This poem doesn't feel right. It has been sitting in the draft for a month now, I can not seem to find the words I want to put but for now, this is it, hopefully, I find them and make this poem sound right.]
