In a house somewhere
Lived two people
Tidy furniture and green houseplants.
A warm breeze swayed the chimes
In a room somewhere
Furnished with rosewood bed and rosewood table.
A gust of wind knocked at the window,
wanting to fly the lose stack of papers lying on the table.
On some table one day,
laid a fallen inkpot.
Ink making a mess on the rosewood,
dripping down and staining the carpet.
An uninvited wind pushed open the window,
And roamed about the furnished room,
Flew the slightly ink stained papers along with it,
And scattered all across the room.
In a house somewhere
Lived a widow.
With withered plants and rosewood furniture.
In a room somewhere
The ink was not cleaned, and the stain remained,
because the occupant of the house was occupied cleaning the red stains from her beloved's wrists.
A pair of shaking hands had picked up the slightly stained letters strewn all across the room,
The blue stains on the carpet
had become the perfect shade of purple mixing with the red of the deceased's.
