Poem #7 : Stranger

The moon hid behind the cloud,

And darkness fell all around.

The wind blew and swayed the pine trees,

The sole lamp lit up the street.

A hooded figure stood behind a bush

waiting and watching the night with a hush.

The late passersby didn't notice the silent vigilant

who enjoyed the dark night so poignant.

Far away somewhere the stranger broke free

Ran away from 'home' and out of the family tree.

The stranger traveled far and wide

On foot and by hitchhiking ride;

Until the stranger reached this strange place suited for a stranger

where no one knew anyone, and therefore far from danger.
