Poem #20 : Assuage

I see you everywhere I go.

Are you following me? Or am I? I don't know.

I see you in my dreams,

And when in a nightmare, I scream,

Thinking of you soothes me.

I'm happy, I'm calm when you're with me.

But...you still act indifferent.

Or maybe you are just different.

Anyway, I decided not to lose myself over you.

Not that you care but I'm still writing this to you.

Not because I suddenly had to confess,

But because I just had to let it out and express,

All of my thoughts and emotions which are now all a mess.

You'll never know about the turmoils I feel,

And the scars that won't heal...

I loosen my grip around the string

And see the balloons soar and sing

About me, my life and my story

And just about everything except my glory.

But it's okay. It's fine.

For they were never truly mine.

It's funny how I don't have a fear of letting go

But a fear of keeping close...
